Finally raced a cobra...

So a kid my friend knows wanted to race me in a cobra. He has a pulley and a few other things done to the car. So he asked me to meet him in the parking lot of the short hills mall. I show up and I see him with the hood popped taking up 4 spots. He said I could look around and i did. I saw a pulley, intake exhaust and a few other things. Then he asked me to open my hood and i did. He saw wut i had and said "Dam this thing is moddified." Then he noticed the nitrous kit and said "U cant run me with that" I told the kid "i cant run u w/o the bottle, but its ok for u to have a s/c?" He said he wanted to go motor/motor, but i knew id get my ass handed to me. I told him to take off the s/c then run motor/motor. I told him "Well run motor/motor, but after that im spraying" He agrees and we take off to line up on 24. We went from 40 1...2....3BAM, in seconds i heard the whhhiine of the s/c and he had a solid 3 cars on me. THEN, we get back and he said "I gotta go home." I told him "I wanna use my bottle, i never said anything about u using your blower. Finally I convinced him and we go again. From 40ish and I hit the button and by the top of 4th i had about 3-3.5 cars on him. He does a ricer flyby and flips me the finger. I dont get it? What did i do wrong? I told him its really not fair running motor/motor because im N/A and hes F/I.

Stop with your car is supercharged and my is not crap. That's the way they come from the factory. If it comes 4turbo ,V6-V8-V10-V12 Twin turbo that's the way it comes. Gm has used supercharging and turbocharging for years.

whenever i need to. I can hang w/ just about anything i see on a day to day basis. 200 is the max i would go on the stock LS1 bottom end. None the less, i killed him fairly easily. He told me hed call me in a few weeks when he gets his steggi ported IV.

True , but well all know what wood happen if an LS1 came outta the factory with a s/c.

The same thing that would happen if the Cobra came with 5.7 liters instead of 4.6.

But it doesn't. And the LS1 doesn't have a blower. And both are silly, pointless arguements.

It is a run what your brung situation, Although what happens when you run out of bottle? I think the S/C keeps boosting. Nothing wrong with cheap HP, Except you run out as quick as you can get it. I personally will spend the extra buck to get something worth while as for a turbo. Nothing beats real power Vs Bottle power. Hell its like Viagra its never there when you need it.

I agree, but since i cant get headers the car doesnt have H/C. If i could have gotten headers, i wooda thrown a cam in it last year, and might have benn working on heads right now. Id luv to spank him w/o the bottle, but lets face it, if u dont have full bolt ons a h/c, its gonna be tough to beat.
