my buddy's girl recently got an evo ix... they both thought it'd hand my ass to me... but turns out it didn't... it's pretty much a stock for stock race... i have a lid... woooo.... just wonderin if they're supposed to be faster?? i even tore it outta the hole?? is this just a bad driver mod on their part??? or a really good one on mine??

stock no way. they are not meant for drag races stock. they are rally cars from the factory. but bone stock untouched evo will really only get you off the line(depending on how high they want to launch) and more than likely you will reel it in assuming you dont botch the launch yourself. but comparable drivers i give it to the ls1 for the mid range to top end power.

Tarmac Black- 05 Evo VIII
I'm not even really going to start, but nearly all of the people who own Evo's and STi's simply can't drive their cars.. plain and simple. I took my car to the track once being all stock, and the times are in my sig.
All stock Evo VIII 12.95 @ 106.32mph with a 1.89 60ft.
Highest stock trap: 107.26mph

Dark Blue- 2000 Z
My GF owns a 06 IX and I own a 00 Z28 and stock the evo ran 13.5 @ 103 and the camaro hasn't been to the track yet. From a launch the evo gets a huge jump, but from a role the camaro pulls huge. Its still hard to make it up in the 1/4, driver plays a huge part in an Evo launch.

No bad driving involved, they aren't that fast. They only trap low 100's, LS1 F-bodies are much more powerful.
The only place they can cheapshot you is the launch. If they come off the line hard, sometimes it can be hard to catch back up.
If they don't launch the car at all, its not even a race...LS1 will pull car lenght after car length and keep on pulling.
