Didn't even know I was racing.
I might like some of your opinions on this matter that's been bothering me for a while. So I'm out drying the car off and it's finally getting warm so I open it up a bit. Nothing excessive just a nice offramp maybe 5000 rpm in fifth. Anyway I was going home to a lasagna in the oven and my sweetie was to be there in a few minutes. I pull up to a red light a few minutes later an this cop is on me lights and sirens. I don't know where he picked me up so I pull up to a gas station and pull over. Well now comes the fun. So I open the door and he comes running up with his gun drawn yelling, and I mean yelling. So I get out and I don't really like this gun aiming at me. So I comply and do the usual or unusual to me. I am arrested or so he says. I get to sit in the back of the car cuffed while he writes me tickets. He says I was trying to out run him and If I was I would have. I never knew he was there. I think he overreacted. Am I so wrong to think this was overreacting? If he was a mile or two behind how would I have seen him? I was just having fun endangering no one but myself. I thought they were here to serve and protect. Not terrify and dictate. I wonder how the judge will see this?

Yeah, you were movin'. Even if it was a ticket for speeding, it is gonna be a nasty one. You might lose your license. You should have just kept on truck'n. Technically you were already trying to outrun him anyway, might as well deserve it.
If you are going like 20 or so over the speed limit, then yeah, stop and take your medicine. If you are DOUBLE the speed limit when they see you, you might as well keep it floored.
I had one whip around on me when I was doing triple digits in the Cobra, so I just matted the throttle and never saw the f*cker again!!
Now that is a real adrenaline rush! Just hope you don't have anybody with you at the time, 'cause you might decide their fate, plus they will prolly freak out and scream like a little girl every time you run an intersection.Last edited by Roastem; 09-01-2006 at 10:31 AM.

You must have been hauling some ass to be 5000 RPM in fifth. Very few cops are here to serve and protect my friend, most cops are here to strike the final note on your wellbeing as a person. The logical choice is almost never the choice that they make, atleast not around Utah. Soon as they see me they're already judgin' me, I've had cops follow me for miles when I've done nothing, its ridiculous. I've seen people pulled over for the most retarded shit, wasting MY tax dollars. I've got cops demanding I do yard work because my lawn is "out of code". I could go on for hours about cops around this pisshole.
But, I do agree with Roastem here, if you're already going triple digits when they see you, gun that shit and get off the road asap, head for residential as fast as you can and take the scenic route back to your garage, you need to get off the street within 10 minutes or so or you are seriously risking it, make sure nobody catches your plates, don't give them the opportunity to, but in residential you need to take the most convoluted road system you can think of. Their little pos cars aren't catching up to you any time soon but don't assume much, keep shit crazy and they'll never catch you. But if hes like right behind you, forget it, you'll just go to jail for no reason.
It really helps if you know the area where you're trying to get away from the cop, or have GPS onboard, they will save your life in this situation. Oh and sorry for the essay, I'm passionate about this topic.
We should boot all of the road-cops off the force and stick F-body cars and drivers in their place, then shit'll get done right, thats for damn sure.

Only thing is I didn't even know he was around. I don't look in my rearview when I'm doing that stuff. He caught up to me miles later at a light. I think I was treated unfairly and I feel bad about this. Oh ya the car has 3.42s. I have actually ran them numerous times before, but this time I didn't even know he was there. I will tell the judge maybe people who get a gun aimed at them may not want to stop next time. He was a fat pig of a man and his blood pressure was through the roof. Good for him for stressing me out as well. If I had wanted to run him I could have easy, I was just playing.

Happened to me in highschool, passed the cops at alittle over 135 they turned around I stuck it to the floor. 6 miles later a county truck found me and radioed the po po. Guns drawn ripped out of the car and north to jail. The judge asked my defense I flat out told him that I never seen the cops. They did give me a reckless driving, 113 in a 55, and they dropped the fleeing and aluding to a failure to obey a police signal. Still costed my around 700 plus 60 days no license and 300 hours community service. (if only I was famous). My best friend is now a cop in L.A. and I hear horror stories a the time. My thoughts are be honest get a traffic lawyer might cost you a couple grand but if he saves your butt it will be worth the lower insurance and keeping you license. That stuff stays on record 3 - 5 years, Good luck, BATA

Here are your mistakes.
1. Obviously going 3 times the limit is a problem.
2. Getting out of a car after being pulled over before being approached by the officer.
I can tell you now that if I see a car going well over 100mph, then when I pull it over, the driver, inexplicably gets out of the car! Where is your head man? Getting out of the car when you are pulled over? I'm not trying to preach, but that is a really bad idea. Not to mention that here in California, the speeds you were traveling at are a FELONY.

Red Fire- 2007 Mustang GT/CS
When I was 17 I pulled something similar, in a 73 Road Runner.. had a 340 sixpack out of a 70 'Cuda.. 137 in a posted 35 around 4 am....Never saw the officer that clocked me...A couple of state patrol officers had the road blocked miles up the road.. shotguns aimed at me.."HANDS I WANNA SEE YOUR HANDS !!" etc etc "TAKE KEYS FROM IGNITION WITH YOUR LEFT HAND!!" I am sure you know or have seen the drill... felony style arrest... face in the dirt, knee to the back of the head...etc
All I can say is...I was young, .I was dumb, I learned a lesson. Cost me my car and a couple years no license.. and ALOT of MONEY...Get a Lawyer, PRAY, and SLOW THE F*CK down on public roads.... Good luck brother....
Your gonna need it.
My heart goes to ya

You were speeding, and were all guilty of posting top speeds in are rides! Now being caught in a road sin there is a piper to pay. Now having a fire-arm being pointed at you, (is by any means a police officer having a bad day), and over reacting where it could caust him, and you some issues! I am sorry to hear about your problem, and I know I get all lead footed when I come home from work, and wanting to see my love, but (knock on wood) this was a wake up call for me reading this. Good luck!

I agree with the wakeup call. I had one yesterday as I was driving home from work. I'm rolling along in my dd (96 Beretta) and I see a new mustang coming up in my rearview. I'm on a 4lane so he moved over to go around me and as he went by I pointed at his car and gave him a thumbs-up. It looked nice and I was being polite. You would have thought I flipped him off. He made some kind of gesture and then floormatted it. If I had been in the TA it would have been on. Anyway, went about a mile and a half further and saw an IA State boy with him pulled over. Nothing like a honk and wave as you go by!

And that is why I never go more than 5 over unless it's in a street-race. Call me pussy but I don't need a ticket for dumb shit. Not a single ticket on file yet, either, and I have plenty of fun.

Bro !! Your my little brother's age! You have been driving for a year . I would hope you would not be getting a ticket a year into driving, my friend. For me I have never had a ticket, but when you know how to drive, and where to drive, go for it. Your no pussy, just wet behind the ears grasshopper. It's all gravy...

Mash it and try to run is probably the most stupid advice I've ever heard. If you get zapped for excessive speed, so what. In most places it's a misdemeanor at worst. Running from the police is a FELONY. Got that? A FELONY. Yeah, you can get away if everything works right but if not you are completely and royally screwed. Yeah, there are good cops and bad cops but don't compound it by being a moron yourself.
