Cocky Solstice, what do you think
So I'm a server, and we got a new kid at work, hes an arrogant little bastard, been there a week and everyone hates him. Turns out he dries a solstice, i heard him bragging about 4-bangers being awesome the other day. he was parked by me leaving work tonight, thats how i found out it was his.
I got sideways pulling out beside him, so i figure hell eventually want to play. All i know is its a solstice, i dont know a model or year, i know the GXP is pretty quick, but other than that, what do you guys think

Sell that 3.8L camaro. Thats not even a real camaro bro. You'd be able to laugh at him in a LS1.

blacker than wesleysnipes- 98' trans am
wrong again slappy..without those disgraces..your beautiful Z28 would not have been made...v6s sell and keep brands alive..v8s almost never do...and a v6 camaro and a v8 camaro are exactly the same besides the engine..just like a formy and a firebird...

what you say is true! im not gonna disagree... just saying if you have a v6 dont talk down to a 4banger, they're more likely going to be faster than you.
the v6 wasnt made to be fast, i understand that, they're made for the person who wanted the looks of the car and didnt care for the motor.

the 3.8l chevy motor is not junk by any means, if you dont believe me google the 89 turbo trans am , or the 80's buick grand nationals, they'll run with a stock LS1 no problem.

Not junk at all.
The 3.8 is legendary, and actually pretty bulletproof. I've seen stock bottom ends hold close to 600WHP no problem on a 3800 Series II.
Trouble is, N/A they are dog slow. They need boost to really make power, which is why they are so popular and well revered in the form of the Grand Nationals and Grand Prix GTP's.
And yes, any Solstice, N/A or turbo, will beat up on a 3800 Camaro. If the Solstice was an N/A and automatic, it might be a closer race at least. The 2.0 LNF turbo is a really impressive motor, hits peak torque of 260ft/lbs at 2,000RPM, which is impressive for a 4, and it still gets very good fuel economy.Last edited by Wesman; 12-16-2008 at 01:35 PM.
