Camaro Vs Solstice Gxp
Hey im planning on racing my buddies 06 solstice gxp, jw what you guys thought on if he had a chance or not i just bought a 98 z28 with 72k. its an auto and he's a manual.

You probably have a good shot. I actually have an old Car and Driver magazine that tested your same year car and it hit 60 in 5.2 seconds, bone stock, it was however with a 6-speed not the auto-tran that you have. I think I read the Solistice GXP ran to 60 in about 5.5 seconds (pretty damn good for a convertible 4 banger!). Assuming your car is not beat up, it should be a close race to 60, and you'll probably pull away (like most LS1 engines) from there. Will definately, be an interesting race though, let us know how it goes!

Ha ha thanks guys. i kinda figured i had him beat based of what i had read about them. but then he let some of my friends drive it one weekend and they all came back saying i'd get raped in a race. i guess now i'll put some money down on it.

ya do it but make sure you take some money from him or something seeing that you have the obvious upper hand!! but make sure he dont try to throw something under the hood without you knowing!!

If he's bone stock, you shouldn't have anything to worry about....simply don't roast the tires on the launch and you'll be just fine!
2002 Camaro SS M6, 2.5 PRC 5.3L heads, TFS 228/230 cam, FAST 92, bolt ons + a 10 lb bottle in the back.
1989 Corvette L98, A4, Full bolt ons, etc.
