    Unhappy Beat another f-bod

Once again I got to race another f-bod. this time it was a 1998 a4 Ws6. The ws6 was all stock. My buddy's grandpa had just bought the car. So I was driving through town whenever he flys up beside me. He gives me a shit eatin grinn and I drop down to first gear at about 25 mph. I give him the jump and I punch it. From 25-70 I put 2 car lengths on him. I think the old a4 must have been a lil week. After the race I asked him if he was on it and he told me it was to the floor. Its sucks that the only cars I have raced are GM. But I am happy that I have beat all of them.

I rode in the ws6 and the thing feels week for an ls1, I think the whole car needs a good tune up.

I wish I could figure out how a race between an A4 and a M6 between 25-70 ending in a thirty or so feet difference makes the A4 WEAK.

He kicked down a gear, most likely. That gave the M6 a quarter second or so. I can hold my M6 in second only to 70 if I bang off the rev limiter.

There's your race. A converter may be all he needs to change your mind in a 1/4 mile about the word WEAK. From your story, his car sounds fine to me.

CALM DOWN please. Dont get offended soon as I say an a4 is weak. IT was THAT A4 that was weak, not yours. Plus, the whole car seemed a little weak, it did have 140,000 miles on it.

I'm not offended. Anyway I have an M6. You seemed to imply the LS1 was weak in the first write-up and all I wanted to do was suggest that issue is more in the tranny than the engine. Or, at least, that's what I was thinking.

140,000? it has a right to be a little weaker then.

The ws6 is no sloutch either, just after lookin at the car closer I could see a couple things it could improve on.

I looked at the cars air filter and it need replaced or serviced, the car was throwing a service engine light whenever I looked the dash, no telling when the plugs were changed last, the car needed new brakes and rotors(bad growl), the tranny was shifting at weird points whenever the car was driven normaly, and that was just the mechanical problems I caught from looking at and riding in the car. No telling what a real mechanic would find. I'm just a dumb kid.

Yeah, that WS6 just needs a little TLC. New plugs, wires, fuel system treatment, brake job, change all fluids, and of course get those codes looked at. I have no doubt that car will run strong after some service even with 200+K on the clock.
