Ate My First Vette, and it Was a Z06!
I'd been tellin her I wanted to race a c5 vette to see how I'd do and every time we saw one we were in the mustang gt and not my car so I'd be pissed. Well at the track what did I find? A blue Z06! I didn't expect to beat him really, but I knew I had a fighting chance with what I've done. I wasn't going to lay it down and die so I spit bullets!
My girl said she didn't expect me to win either. She said all she saw was a vette lined up next to me and she had it sorted out that quick that I'd lose. I was pumped though and I wanted to give him my best runs, and I DID! I got my best time running him the 2nd time.

hahaha thanks! The announcer at the track happens to drive a bad ass NBM Z/28.
I ran the Z06 twice. Before the first race I told him I think I had the same rwhp he had, but I also told him he certainly had the weight advantage. I obviously had enough power to take him which feels DAMN GOOD! hahahahhaha. Did you notice how I came around him the 2nd race?Last edited by 7camaro7; 08-29-2007 at 11:46 AM. Reason: alkd

yeah man, you walked around him easily. since your mods and mine are close i figured a c5 zo6 would still beat me.

haven't run in the 1320 yet... I plan to one of these days. I bet by the time I can make it to one I'll already have the good ole H/C package on it hahaha
in the 1/8 while racing the Z the 2nd time, I pulled a 8.7 I'm sure the car was capable of better but that's the best I could do so far. I plan on going again this year when it cools off.Last edited by 7camaro7; 08-29-2007 at 12:33 PM. Reason: aljdfl

U are havin some major traction issues I bet.... What was your MPH? 8.7 is not good for those mods you got. Even in this heat I think you should have been running in the 8.4 area. I was runnin 8.5's the other day in 2200ft but my car isn't quite what it used to be on the low end due to it not quite bein what it used on the top end
96 Imp SS- 12.74@103, 1.74 60' out of fuel
06 AWD TB SS- 12.58@106, 1.76 60'

Yea, traction would majorly help out. I was only runnin 80&81 but also I had 1.90 60's. Endin up trappin at 103 though in the heat. Tells ya how hard the car pulls once it hits 80!
You got a nice ride man. I'm seriously contemplating buying one this week....

hahahahaha, thanks a lot! I was feeling like my story would've been too good to be true and since I had the video I felt so good! I actually waited like a week to post it.
I could use some better traction, I could also use a better rear end(12-bolt)! I don't think I'll be putting slicks on it anytime soon. When I graduate I'll make that one of my gifts to myself.
what kind of ride you getting?

Some sort of Fbod. Whatever falls on my lap. I think I've finally decided to ditch the bike in leiu of another car. I miss being able to drive a car almost daily. The TBSS is fun but the auto gets to be boring. Same thing w/ the impy, and its not very fun to drive cause the linkage up front needs repaired and it's set up to race....
I've found a 98 Z close to me that already has all the work I want done to it. And for a decent price. Of course I have to try and jew the guy down more though, ha ha!!! I really want a WS6 or another SS to add to the stable, but beggers can't be choosers...

I really like them too, but it sure did feel good beating gm's top car of my car's year. I don't know exactly what year it was but it was close enough. You know Luos? We'll he's the one to watch because he's running right along side the new C6 Z06s! That's when you're in supercar territory! Let me clarify... Supercar territory of TODAY! hahahahaha I want mine to out perform a LOT of supercars when I'm done with it.
