Another: Vette vs DSM [blown c5 vs built talon]
I just found this over on DSMtalk.. thought it was pretty cool vid even though it doesnt go as planned...
Procharged C5 vs Built Talon at 27psi (Vid says Z06 but its not, its C5!)
From what I gathered, Talon was running street map, his race map is 34psi and on 34psi he ran 10.6s@139...
Here are the Vettes mods:
D1SC prochager @12lbs
reprogramed ECU
twin carbon clutch
full exhaust
innercooled
4.10 rear gears
water/meth injection
B&M shirt throw shifter
few other things I can't think of right now.
has dyoned 530whp on a 90 degree day with pump gas (93 octane) and no
water/meth injection

Hey it was a pretty crazy race. From what I heard that Talon is setup perfect and if it runs 139mph on 34psi, I guess 130+ for 27psi is still doable! Im just going by what the guy said, he posted the vid on another forum!

Talk about a wolf in sheeps clothing. I am a huge fan of American muscle but you've gotta have respect for cars like that talon. There is a lot of power to be had from the first generation awd turbo eclipses and talons. I read in an import magazine a while back that they tested an eclipse, in their reader's street car shoot out, that went 0-60 faster on wet pavement than it did on dry and the time was like 3 seconds. It has a lot to do with power to weight ratio as well, however I will never get used to the sound of a 4 banger exhuast running through a muffler the size of a trash can.

That was a FAST Talon.
Not to start a flame war, but did somebody get his feelings hurt over the last Vette/DSM video?

Cool. I look a little too deep into things at times.
You'd never think that little car would do that to a blown Vette... till it did.

Hey, there will ALWAYS be someone... somewhere that has a faster whip than what you've got. Build what you want and like it... win or lose! But I agree with Dipherentdesign!!!

I respect anyone who will build a car like that, but really, park em in a parking lot next to each other and nobody that passes by and looks will even be able to tell you what kind of car was parked next to the 'vette. You can look good standing still, you can't race in your driveway

Fast! And the best thing is no one would look twice at that Talon, a true sleeper for sure without the silly wings and stickers. Bet he suprises a lot of people with that car. I'd still choose that Vette anyday of the week but props to the Talon kid for building a quick car.
