99 T/A vs 83 f-350

Some kid wanted to race me in his 83 f-350 or f250. he told me he would smoke my car. His truck is stock i think a 7.3 or 5.3 w/turbo no chip. my mods are K&N intake, TSP exhaust, and all the free air mods i can get(money is tight so cant put alot of $ in it). also its a A4. So what do you guys thing?

I know its sounds stupid but that truck goes fast. and havent really raced on the street only a 03 ford mustang gt with 13 grand in performance parts. and he did high 11 in 1/4 mile. and 97 Lt1 camaro.

quick answer--- yes. you can VTEC a turbo.

rumor has it though, a japanese scientist at one point 2JZ'd a VTEC'd turbo. the power output was similar to that of 4 nuclear power plants. out of the hole the car had so much power it actually spun the earth backwards for a second. and that is the real cause of climate change.

For the OP, I'd say if you can beat a high 11 second car in the 1/4 mile, you shouldn't lose. If he truly has no chip installed, you won't lose. If he's bullshitting you and has a chip, it'll be a good race out of the hole but as I said before, IF YOU REALLY DID BEAT A HIGH 11 SECOND CAR, you shouldn't lose. If you didn't beat it, he will kick your ass because you won't catch up.
I'm was running 150 shot and had a time with a turbo, chipped. Out of the hole he walked me, I caught him by 80 and had him by about 1-1/2 lengths in the 1/4. I'm running low 11's with my car.

My bad...didn't see 1983 model...not sure about that. I ran against a 2005. It surprised the hell out of me when he took off. I was like...WTF!!!!

So he has a bone stock 460 in a heavy ass truck? my uncle has an 86 F250 460, 4 speed and 4x4 and my 93 GMC 4x4 with 257K miles kicked it's ass with a TBI 350 and a 5 speed so, don't sweat it at all, wager 50 bucks and laugh all the way to the porn store.

Ive crushed every hillbilly dumb fuck truck that thought their truck was faster than my car. Maybe there is SOME fast ones but here in Iowa its usually stupid farmers that think cuz the truck can smoke the tires its fast.

Worse than that I don't think 1983 trucks had turbos? COuld be wrong but I think the 93 or so Powerstroke was the first.

Knew something was up when you said '83 seeing as there was no 7.3 in '83. The '83 trucks would have had the 6.9 IDI, which was a boat anchor of an engine, just like the later 7.3 IDI.

Even the later powerstrokes like the '97 you ran aren't very impressive. They only have about 235HP, which is damn slow in a 6,000lb truck with huge tires.

IMO its not even worth the gas to race him unless ur wagering money. My 98 GMC beat my buddies 97 Powerjoke by quite a bit. My mods=muffler delete....I still gotz the catz tho lol. His mods= 100 hp chip/programmer, CAI, 4" exhaust.
