'90 5.0 Stang
im going to race my friend regardless but would like to just get an idea of outcome: he has a '90 5.0 stang stick with a paxton supercharger, headers, 3.73 gears, edelbrock heads and upper and lower intake. he says he ran 12.5 last time at the track. i have stock a4 ws6.

If hes honest about his 12.5 which sounds about right he should walk you like a dog from a roll. From a dig depends on traction but he will catch you in the end

Agreed, even with just 6-7psi depending on the s/c head unit that 5.0 should be putting down 370-400whp in a lighter car.

Yup...........you should be spanked. It's ok! congratulate him on the win, and then tell him it took a supercharger to beat a NA LS1. It's all good, at least we are racing V8s instead of some shitty 4 cyl FWD POS.

2002 Z28 A4 NBM- Sadly now demodded :(
Agreed: Spanked and humilated from the word go!
He might break though...67 Camaro: K-K + 797-z (look it up), 454/Th400/4.10 12-bolt = 6mpg, PS/PDB/PW tilt, tach, gauges...
2005 Corvette LS2/M6 Magnetic Red Metallic (What else would it be?) w/ Cashmere interior
2002 Z28: NBM/Tan, MTI smooth lid, smooth bellows, !AIR, !cats, 1-3/4" QTP SS LT's, 2-1/2" TD's with X-pipe, MagnaFlows dumped at axle, custom welded SFC's, MidWest Chassis body mount adjustable T/A, 3400 stall, 3.23 gears (was 2.73). Tuned: 343rwhp/357rwt (before TD's). Best: 12.559 @ 108+, 1.73 60' @ 3500' DA w/MT ET Street DR's.
Carbon footprint? CLOWN SHOE!

Race him. You may hear the excuses. You never know till you try. But generally, superchargers are bad to race against.

He might have to put a blower on his car but he prob has less invested in the 5.0 as well. I have 11k invested in my 9.6s 5.0 and 8k invested in my 13.0 LS1..... I doubt i can make the LS run 9s on 3k bucks...... LS is a better motor and look sexier but the Fox bodies are cheap to purchase and build.

thats what i was thinking that i would lose, but i wasn't sure if his time that he told me was legit...but i guess he was right. Either way i'll still race him and be a good sport about it regardless of outcome

Ebay 349 rotating assembly in my stock block, i did all the machine work at school and assembly work. I have a $600 set of TF twisted wedge heads that i CNCported and bench flowed at school. The Intake is a R-box 90mm MAf/TB ect. I got two inline 255 fuel pumps and mad the -8 lines at work and cut the fuel tank and made a sump. Car already had long tubes and exhaust I bought a broken tremec TKO2 and rebuilt it at school with Liberty Face plates. Car has stock springs, Stange frt/rear adjustables, $100 set of slicks, $300 set of drag lites k-member i paid 200bucks used with coil over kit. Got some scrap mettle from junkyard and mad sub-frame connectors, upper and lower battle boxes. Tuned the car at school with SCT chip. 452HP on motor and 638HP on a 125 wet kit. 10.94 1/4 mile on motor and 9.79 @134 on the spray. I have spent about 8k in mods but with sellin the old trans and motor parts and stock parts off the car i have 6k out of pocket. Car has full interior nothing has been taken out of it yet, i plan to pull out the padding and do the door braces this winter, along with removing the AC crap out of the dash.

638hp on a stock block is not going to make it long enough for you to do the door braces...
Agreed with what everyone else is saying. The 5.0 with those mods is only limited by the block. He turns up the boost enough on that Paxton and the rotating assy/HCI will support over 500hp easy. And 12.5s with his mods is crap, he can't drive worth a damn if that is the case. That should be an 11 second car easy.

Since my time building the car is my hobby then it cost me nothing verse the 30-60 bucks an hour having someone do it for me.
I have had this combo now for 2 years this is my third year runnin it.
Plus i could purchase a $1k used dart block off of NMRA.
I go to Sinclair in Dayton Ohio.
