had spent almost 6 months buggin a coworker of mine to bring out his 69 camaro (turbo 400, LS6 454 his machine shop built to 600 hp) and run a big mouth in town with a 69 gto (4 spd, ramair 455 w/200 shot). guy just put the juice on it and was bashing chevy's hardcore. dumnass liked fords though. anyways, i finally got him to agree to run but from a roll cause of traction problems. i was supposed to be the camara car in my 78 z-28 (mid 13's). my buddy got the hole shot but the gto quickly caught him. lotta camaro tire spin. SS finally seemed to catch traction in top of second so he nailed it. 2 quick car lengths (gto claimed miss shift) then he hits 3rd massive tire spin pitches car into other lane, counter steering like mad passenger tire biting dirt he straightens it out and lets off gas. caught it all on camara, beautiful save. meanwhile i find myself the only car still on the gas. heh heh what the hell. i fly by both of them with the gto on my ass. he tries a pass but the orange fence post (1/4 mile marker) flies by and i got him by a fender. both guys bitchin up a storm after everyone anoints me the winner. lol. rematch demanded and 10 car lengths. uh uh. no way this cows getting away till its milked dry! eventually sold the video to my friend for a compilation he was making for internet so its out there somewhere. (he was restationed to san diego). remember its not about beating the other car its about beating the other driver.
