290 WHP out out of a Stage 1 SRT?WTF

All of my rice buddies are telling me that this black 2005 SRT-4 in town has 290 whp. I was like WTF are you guy talkin about, because all he has done is a stage 1 kit from mopar, k&n intake, a diff. blow off valve, exhaust and thats it. I told them that i only thought that they made 230 hp at the crank stock, and they were all like naw man naw (gansta/ricer talk) SRT's are under rated the've got like 260 stock. They said Stage 1 alone give him like 30 whp. once again i was like WTF. Anyone really know what a SRT like this would put down to the wheels?

no, me and diph test drove a stage 2 and it sucked ass, my buddy in his stock LT1 blew the car away

I drove a base srt-4 and I asked the sales guy, "is there really a turbo in here???" I didn't feel any real power. I was sadly disappointed.

Stage 1 Turbo Upgrade Kit

240 hp @ 5200 rpm

They dyno around 215-220Whp stock so they are a little underrated...No way he's running 290 on a stage 1 kit...Maybe with a downpipe and no cat. Boost controller???

yep, me and zboner test drove a stage 2...it wasn't tourq-ie or anything. it did ok from 25-90, but that was it. Oh, did Dodge figur out a new way to assemble the stick shift? while testing it, i went for 2nd and *POP* the stick pulled out, i just handed it back to the dealer who went driving with us. LOL he's like "um...that's not supposed to happen"

290whp NO WAY. The stage1 is a joke and even with exhaust should only push around 250-260whp MAX. Its the other mods he has that will add extra power such as upgraded wastegate actuator, exhaust, FMIC, etc.

My buddies Stage2 SRT4 with open downpipe, FMIC, WG actuator, and some other things went 112mph in the 1/4 which is pretty good, but stage 1 WITHOUT exhaust and WG actuator and FMIC... 290 crank MAYBE lol.

Keep in mind if you do run them from a roll, they are only 2950lbs or around there and they have great torque due to the small turbo so watch out from roll-on!

i have beat every srt-4 in my town and the only fast one i really raced had a full intake, exhasut(cat-back), wastegate, carbon-shit hood, and my car was stock 13.6 i beat him by 2 cars so he may be a 13.9 car with those mods just blow him away

SRT-4's ARE underrated. However, theres no way hes pushing 290 off a stage 1. MAYBE 270 at the wheels

No way in hell hes pushing 290 at the wheels with just those mods. Stage 1 computers are pretty much just a supporter. Once you get the Stage 1 comp you can do whatever you want to the car without throwing an engine code. (throw code=shut down boost) They have guys around here that have big turbo upgraded srts with stage 1 computers pushing 400+. But with THOSE mods thats imposible. If he doesnt have a wastgate hes doing all that shit for nothing. I have alot more shit than he does and my car honestly will only be pushing 250-260@the wheels. Im ordering a stand-alone computer, hard pipes, traction bars, and H-brace, and a bigger throttle-body and i still will only be at around 300 to teh wheels. That dudes lying his ass off. If you have a stock LS1 you should pull him.
