    2002 Camaro Z28

    2010+ ss vs 2002 z28

Well heading home from getting my tool box from school ldurham on here, had to use his truck anyway thats beside the point im in my car and when i mergin on to the highway and i see a white camaro hids black wheels, carbon fiber side skirts and black hockey stick stripe and i thought finally ill get to run one hopefully. well i get beside him doing 70 and just blip it a lil in 6th to see if he interested and sure enough he kinda got on it and and passed me so i flash him and he slows down a bit and we line up at 70 and i downshift to 5th then 4th then i hear his car too it was really deep exhaust it was also a 6spd, so i then i put it in 3rd and waitin and i just gave it a hit and let off to see if he was ready and he took off and jumped a car by them time i could hit again, so i followed by the time i ended 3rd we were even and i clicked 4th for just a tad and got about a fender or less on him and had to shut down cuz someone was in my lane. go through traffic and finally opens up and i wanted to get a cleaner run but he didnt want to. Definitely made me happy to beat one just wish would have had a longer run.

nice... really i havent been impressed with the new camaro as for being fast... rated at 422ish horsepower you would think they would be faster but they are also heavy...

X2 There was about 8 of them in a group last time we were out at the track and I wasn't impressed at all. I do realize it's quite possible the owners couldn't drive but not a one ran an 1/8th mile time raster than 9:17.

I wouldn't call deep into the 12's for the 5.0 with just drag radials disappointing really. That's just me though.

I finally raced a 2010 camaro with my bone stock o2 ss from a 30 mph roll and barley pulled on him by a fender to 100 mph before shutting down. They really arent quick for having such a big engine way too heavy like the new challengers. Im sure the new 5.0 mustangs will stomp the new ss on the streets because of their lighter weight.

Lol sure it wasn't a v6? No reason for a 5.0 to be anywhere near 14's unless like said, he can't drive

12.8 is deep into the 12's? with radials and a professional driver at the perfect track? ya its faster than the Camaro, and challenger but not to much the Camaro runs 13 flat with the same conditions?

    Pure Stock---------------- 1.89 --12.22 @ 115.18 ----STOCK --------3/26/11 Cecil County Dragway

That's the fastest recorded time I've seen.

I've also seen them running 12.5-12.6 completely stock.

I've seen 12.0's on drag radials with a tune.

I'm not going to turn this into a Mustang vs. Camaro thread because we all know how those end up Just go check out the SVT forums if you want to see how fast these cars are with real drivers behind the wheel.
