2003/04 Jetta 1.8T @ 18PSI vs My 95 Trans Am stock w/ K&N FIPK
Hey guys a friend of mine wants to race me for some money he drives a 5-speed manual 2003/04 Jetta 1.8T @ 18PSI , he recently got some ecu upgrade chip so thats how hes at 18psi, says hes somewhere around 220/215 (his guess no dyno), If i were to race him in my 1995 Trans Am w/ just a K&N FIPK (Auto transmission w/ performance mode) wht would be the outcome? We will most likely race tomorrow n i wanted to know how much i should put down? My car has 3.23 gears from the factory and it shifts into 2nd (70mph) n 3rd around redline wit the performance mode thingy on.
Lemem know wht i should do guys
We will most likely do runs from a dig, a 10 mph roll, a 20 mph roll, a 30mph roll n maybe a 40 mph roll.
I will have a friend wit me too he wants to watch lol, he will most likely have one wit him too.
Thanks
Ado

you should beat him, i have a 1998 SS Vert and i killed a 02/03 GTI running the same boost as you said (around 15-20) psi, and i walked him hard

i think you will beat him just the same because you have an automatic, and he will not be able to out shift you

let's not forget...it's an LT1 auto with 3.23s, not an LS1...then again, my 3 LT1s were all 6 speeds...how do the autos perform? (I never lost to one, only raced a few)

I raced one in my auto from a 30 roll....He took a half of car till about 55 then I passed by 2-3 car lengths to 110...I'm pretty much stock, just airlid....Shouldn't be to big of a problem.

My life is a- Ben Stiller movie.
his estimate is probably engine HP not wheel-HP. even so, any one who "estimates" their car's hp is worth beating on.

Dude tell your freind to get in the back seat to get a bit more grip. I have an ls1 and i don't nkow much about your intake but remove your ari filter just for that little run then put it back on right after the race. IMMIDIATLY! Dude go for it. I'm chearing for you.
