2000 z28 vs. New 5.0

So im driving ldurham's 2000 z28 with 02sunsetorangeZ in the back and there hammered drunk

lol. we were headin in to town to grab some grub and i look in rear view and see middle fogs and ask ldurham "that a 3 valve?" he says ya i think. after slowing down a lil, it pulls up next to us and i was like ya its a gt, but when i got a better look after our headlights reflect of the side emblem it says 5.0! after messin with it for a lil he hits and then i do and start to pull on him until i missed 4th

. i follow him to a gas station and he gets out and we say lets run again cause i missed a gear. he a real cool guy and seemed pretty knowledgeable. we ask what hes got done and he said 3.73s and after he bought it used he put exhaust on. we noticed a SCT emblem on the rear car also after talking to him he says to us "im not gunna lie to yall boys, its got 465". he also said it ran a 7.9 at 94/96. we talk him into runnin again from a 50-125 and he put about 3/4 car on us. not bad for us having near 680lbs in passengers but deffinatly if it was driver and car vs driver and car, it wouldve been a fight for the edge.
deffinatly a fun time getting to drive someone elses car and runnin a 5.0!

Wow, you kept up with a 7.6L Mustang GT, nice job. You may have beat him without the extra "Dead weight" in the back. lol

Hey AJ, you don't have to be an ASSHOLE every day of your life. Chill DUDE. I saw the 465" and thought he ment CID. SORRY DUDE. If he said 465hp then you have an issue if you chose to bring it up but when I see (") next to a number it means inches DUDE. Maybe inches are something you are sensitive about. If so, SORRY DUDE.

2002, you just saw the " sign at the end of the quote of the Cobra owner that kb repeated.

Back to the thread too. If that guy has 465 to the wheels and ran a 7.9 he's got traction issues and/or can't drive. Jus' sayin'.

Getting rid of the 680 pounds of dead weight would've made it pretty interesting

1) i said its got 465 not its got A 465.
2) is it even realistic right now for a new 5.0 to have a 465ci in it?
3) was calling aj an asshole really necessary?

Btw the " after 465 wasnt an inch mark it was ending a quote. Also fasstchevys he never said 465 to wheels said it had 465 i mean i assume maybe he meant that but since we ran i wouldnt say 465 to wheels since he barely beat us. Also slpss i kinda took it as u were being a smart ass maybe but u werent it all kewl im sure thats what aj was also gathering from that too. No biggy just some miss communication. And no lee i not callin u phat. Lol

His comment of "465" HORSEPOWER after looking at some 1/8 & 1/4 mile conversion/weight charts looks about right on the nuts. It does sound like he's talkin' flywheel horsepower.

7.9 in the 1/8 should put that car in the 12.30 - 12.40 range.

I saw a new 5.0 run this weekend and he was runing 12.2's and had a cai lt's and big n' littles I was fairly impressed compared to the 4 new 2ss camaros that were there and the only one that broke to 12' had a super charger, in the cars defence I dont think those guys could drive!

for sure fasstchevys, who knows though, no one tells the truth these days with street racing. Watman02 i would say that guy cant drive at all lol.
Me and a few people on here went to the local strip this weekend and there was a supercharged 2010+ camaro out there with cam and a bottle in the trunk runnin a 6.6 at 114!

AJ, you came on strong with your comments and I just reacted. I am also a mellow dude, for a new yorker that is. Sorry about the Asshole thing but I just got my panties in a bunch when I read your comments. I'm too old ( almost 51 ) to spar with you but I was a good light heavyweight boxer in my early 20's, gave all that up when I got married. Now just waiting for grandkids. So lets just call it no harm no foul and next time we should both use the ( lol ) at the end of a post.
