07 cobra?

Is ther one i just thought they were GTs and the cobra was supercharged in 04 05

well my buddy found a guy who has a 07 mustang and wants to race.....Oh i will.....but is it a cobra? and /or supercharged

im no mustang guy but i think the guy above hit it on the head about it being a shelby. at one time i was a photographer for the NMCA and the NMRA and i saw a prototype of one of these cars, Ford claims 500Bhp. if they have as much as they claim, alot of us could be having our asses handed to us shortly. Ford says their production cobra will boast this "500bhp" package and it will not be a limited production. it will be as many as they can sell. MSRP is supposed to be in the range of $42,000 - $48,000. clearly geared more towards taking on the C6 crowd.

The 03 and 04 cobras were the only ones supercharged from the factory those were terminators.. I dont think they had a cobra in 05 but im not really a mustang guy so i dont no about 05.

No, the 07 Shelby is the first cobra theyve had since the 04 terminator. And yes, the Shelby is rated at 500bhp.

Good news: they weigh 4000lbs+ so they are beatable in stock form by some quick LS1s.
Bad news: they have a forged and supercharged 5.4, so they respond extremely well to mods and the boost can be upped a lot more than theyre at. Theyre also going for about 60 grand thanks to that nice little 20k dealer markup.

If the guy actually has an 07 cobra your buddy better be packing something good. If not (probably), and the guy is just an idiot, he has a regular GT with some fake badging/stickers and as long as your buddy has a few mods he should roll it.

The new boss is supposed to have a 400hp Hurricane 5.0. It also is supposed to be closer to the regular GT in weight. So im thinking that is what is supposed to take on the new Camaros and possibly the new Trans Ams. They should be pretty nice cars

i thought they were more in the neiborhood of 38-3900lbs in coupe form and yes ive heard the same thing about modding them.....prolly 600 plus from just the pully, intake mod.....last i heard they run mid 12s at 112-114 stock

The Hurricane engine isnt a 5.0, I believe its a 6.2. Ford has a new 5.0 cammer crate engine, with 400hp, but considering it costs 15 grand, i really doubt it will find its way into the new boss. Last I heard the frontrunner for the boss was a 351 or some derivation of that. Whatever they have in it though, i think its a safe bet to say itll be packing close to, if not more than 400bhp.

I raced a black new Shelby at the track several times, and not once was it a close race.... and at that time I was in stock form running low 13s...

By not close do you mean that he was destroying you? Cause if it was running high 13s or worse then theres no way it was a real Shelby. I suppose that theres the possibility that the guy was a worse driver than a retarded monkey...
