    02 SS vs DSM

So I was at the mall, walking back to my car. There was a dude in a 97 eclipse sitting in his car, beside mine with a crowd of people around. As Im walking up, he starts asking me if I want to be imbaressed. All his friends are laughing. He says its boostin at 15 psi, and all this bull. I figured my SS with an exhaust, and intake would roll up the DSM. I said ok, lets go... First time is a 20 roll. By 80, I was up at least 6 cars. He pulls back up, from a 25 roll, honks 3 times, and goes. I gave him a good 4 car push, and at 100, I'm around 3 cars ahead. He pulled off onto a side street to avoid any conversation. I cant wait to see him again!

you can see what kind of life this guy has. Running around mall parking lots looking for races are lame. esp calling out cars you cant hang with.

did thiss guy have the awd eclipse? 15 psi on those motors puts them in the 14 sec range. they dont hit 12's or 13's unless there running 20+ psi.

HEY YOU DICKS I HAVE A 97 RS 5SPEED AS MY DD ITS WAY FASTER THAN MY Z................pssshhhh, yea right lol. Dude what a shmuck that kid is. I unfortunately I really do own a 97 RS 5speed for a winter driver/ DD. Its SLOW however its got 195,00 on the clock and is still running awesome and gets me around when the snow starts flying, and I only paid $650 for it due to the Previous owners Lack of automotive knowledge(all it needed was a new battery cable lol)! Good Kill.

Well fwd explains most of it. As for the boost. A factory 4g63 will hold 20-25 psi Stock with no mods to the motor other than a turbo swap. As for the ludes, they wont hold anything close to that kind of boost without internal mods. But I believe the Ludes are running more compression then the 4g63's which makes up the difference.

you cant compared an aftermarket turbo setup to a stock one. At 15psi, all the DSM owner was doing is slamming hot ass air into his engine. I've seen these younger guys at the track with these cars, it seems after a few passes, they have to let the car cool down.

    They're slow unless AWD.

My buddy jeremy before he bought his SRT4 was running 10.80's with 30 psi in a fwd 99 DSM. The Car sounded like a Dam Jet lol. Of course he had the heads reworked and new cams and forged internals.

    I use to have a 97GST spyder.
    Nuff said.
I think it looked good, I loved the way it looked but even with a turbo I knew it was slow and never tried to race any kind of V8 lol Unless it was like one of the slower 4.6 non pi mustangs.

I have one and it's great in the snow or when things get slippery. As for power not to bad for its 1990 design and it beat most performance cars of its time. Time has moved on and there are alot of cars faster now.

If you can pick up one cheap and put and put a few grand into it, you can get a high 13second car. You can have a winter beater and a little performace too.

I wish one of those guys would race me, too. It's fun to show people where their cars really stand when they think they are hot shit. Way too many imports around here that are "fast", then I bring up my car and "oh, they're not that fast!" Not low 13 fast? WTF is fast then? 14's??
