Yeah it's hard to say....like Rikki said if he can drive it could be very close. With his 15% loss through the drivetrain at 320hp and your 20% loss w/ 345 you guys are putting almost identical numbers to the ground. I guess the advantage you have is that you can't miss a gear...lol

LOL. Too many variables for exact outcomes.

3.27s come standard in 01 Cobras. 3.55s would be aftermarket, and a complete waste of time and money if someone intentionally put that gear in the car.

A T56 is a nice tranny, but it probably won't help him any, as it is heavier (other issues too, but not really relevant on the street with street tires).

Assuming the info you gave is accurate, and both cars are running like they should.....from a roll, given that you're an A4, it might be close, but you should still beat him. From a dig, you should have little trouble.

Oh I almost forgot, don't forget about how much the cars weigh. The cobra w/ the heavier T56 and IRS should make it a bit heavier than you as well.

01 Cobra had a 5-speed 3650, not a T56. The actual weights of the cars will be quite close. My 99 T/A (loaded) was 3660 with me, stock. My 99 Cobra (also loaded) was 3600 with me, stock.

I owned a 2001 GT and my dad currently owns a 01 Cobra so I'm aware that they come w/ a 3650 but if you read the first post it says he put a 6 speed in it. This guy has a camaro and aren't they a bit lighter than the T/A's?

'01 Cobra's average around 13.70's at 103 with horsepower ranging in the 270-280rw range. You have the torque advantage. You'll beat 'em.

you should win as long as you don't spin bad, even if you do, your car has more top end then his does

If you are stock and want a slight edge, the get the slp air lid for 8rwhp in 1 minute it takes to install, definitely a must,

some mag. article compared the 01 cobra with an 02 ss

    13.2 ss camaro

Ok. I mistook your post to imply they came with 6 speeds from the factory.

Depends. A fully-loaded SS should easily weigh the same as a T/A (all of which came pretty well loaded). A lower-optioned Camaro (or SS) could be 100 lbs or more less.

Torque is over-rated. Unless multiplied by rpm, of course.

Listen you cant just read off the quarter mile times on websites you find, the ss runs 13.2 and the cobra runs 13.7 both cars have mods and different variables, different drivers, different air temps, you cant just say one car runs this and the other that. If this were a 15 second car against a 12 second car then yes who gives a shit you can miss shift and still win. But the truth is this race should be close if the stick driver doesnt fuck up.

and my tires are pretty shitty.

just run him and report back. should be fun.

No you listen, First of all i said they yes THEY tested the ss and cobra, by no means did i say thats what these other cars run, but for the most part these times can be accurate, and the guy up top has an auto, so i don't think he will miss third, and as far as the 01 cobra they have irs, which is soft and tended to wheel hop when launched to hard with good tires until sus. mods are installed, with my stock 2.73 auto i was pullin 2.0 60' times on reg. 245 street tires, this kid has the same setup as mine but with 3.23 gears and open exhaust, most mustangs i've seen at the track have pulled 2.0-2.3 60' times with street tires,

Don;t worry about the cobras unless its 03-04, then make sure you have headers, intake, tune, 3.73, drag radials, and a good cam.

i actually ran a BONE stock 04 cobra at the track his 13.6 to my 13.3, YEAH i was happy.

    my buddies 01 cobra hits a 13.89 @103 with street tires (2.11 60') and offroad h-pipe, cai, 3.55 gears

he wants to race me and acually thinks hes gonna win against my 2000 auto that has ripped off a 12.71, and since then i have installed a 2800 fuddle stall, ls6 intake manifold and removed over 35 lbs off the nose, should be even quicker than a 12.71(track times coming soon)
