WTB: Cheap daily driver in central PA

I need something for a daily driver, my last one's inspection ran out an it's not worth putting the money into it to get it re-inspected. I'll take anything that can get me to and from work and that will keep the miles of my Z. Preferably 4x4 but i don't car too much at this point. Also good on gas is a plus. Looking to spend $1,000 or less...

Just pick yourself up a Jeep Cherokee. I have 2 they almost last forever. i bought one for $500 and the other for $300. the $500 dollar one runs good and is now lifted. the $300 dollar one is fully loaded but the girl that owned it before me overheated it and ran it out of coolant. Then it decided to throw a rod threw the bottom of the block. oh well 150 for a used engine out of a Junk Yard. They dont get the best gas milage but they will go anywhere and last a long time if you dont over heat them.

I have a '94 cherokee 4dr. But i don't have the title so i just beat the shit out of it on the trails. They are durable, I don't know how that motor lasted after i redlined it so many times trying to get out of the mud. I would def. buy one but i just have to find one close and cheap. Want to sell one of yours?

Its an auto and its an 89. Oh I forgot that the non running one is a 2WD but if you want it still you could swap all the stuff over from your off road only one and have a nice winter beater.

That'd be a bitch, mine has mud caked on there so thick its like concrete, plus it's been in and out of creeks so that shits got to be rusty.

When was the last time it was inspected?

I can get it inspected no problem. I also have a pressure washer so we could get the mud off of yours. I dont know when the last ime it was inspected. it has been sitting at my place for about 4 months.

ok, i will think about it, i was really thrashing on that other motor so i want to make sure it's not knocking or tapping at all. If it's ok the i will most likely do this...

well I know where there is a few decent motors for $150 if your motor is beat. but those I6 last forever if they are not over heated.

Well the last time i had it on the trail i blew a rad hose cuz it was so hot. We cut a little off and put it back on and drive the rest of the day. That night we were looking it over and the coolant overflow hose was caught in the electric fan, so only the clutch fan was spinning all day. No wonder the temp gauge was pinned. I don't know if the motor is shot or not tho...

Start it up. If its not knocking too bad then its fine. Jeeps always make a little noise.

Yea, i split the fuel filter in half last time i had it out. I think a big rock flew up and hit it. I just need to get a new one and it will start.
