White- 98 Trans Am
FS/Trade- Black 1999 Firehawk 6spd Forged 347
I hate that I'm seriously thinking about letting her go, but my financial quo says I must do so.
1999 Pontiac Trans-Am Firehawk #58.
Black with grey leather
Firehawk floor mats
Silver Firehawk wheels w/ Firehawk tires, tons of tread left
6 speed
T-Tops
12 disc cd changer
Body has about 145k
Clean carfax report. 3rd owner.
Mods:
Forged 347 built for turbo (8.7:1 CR).
-16cc Mahle dished pistons
Eagle h beam rods
Comp lifters
Rollmaster timing chain
Ported oil pump
Upgraded bearings & gaskets
ARP bolts
Crane cam 220/224, .551/.551, 114
Precision dual springs
TSP push rods
5.7 heads with exhaust side ported
GM SS valves with valve job
Nearly new clutch by previous owner, less than 4k miles.
LS6 intake.
Hooker Super Comp long tube headers
3" ORY w/ bullet muffler dumped before axle waiting to be welded/bolted onto headers
We just finished up the motor install but have yet to drive the car since we can't get the master cylinder quick connect to snap into the slave cylinder. The car will then need to be tuned since the PCM is still based off a stock Firehawk. The only other thing wrong with the car is when I tested the passenger window didn't go down. I was also told by previous owner 3rd gear was kinda hard to get into sometimes. Could be any problem, hydraulic-master cylinder issue, bad synchro, or what-not but we don't know since we haven't drove it yet. I was going to set this car up for a custom front mount turbo, but no longer have the funds. I MIGHT BE ABLE TO INCLUDE A BRAND NEW W/ 1 YEAR WARRANTY GARRETT 76MM TURBO I'VE ACQUIRED THROUGH A TRADE WITH THE CAR. These go for $1200-$1500 new retail, but if you wanted to continue the turbo route I can include that with a price close to $10k. Keep in mind you don't have to go forced induction (turbo/supercharger) if you get the car tuned right. But if another $3000 was invested into the car you could nearly have a full turbo kit and be pushing at least 525rwhp to 650rwhp.
Updating price for quick sale
$9,500 with the turbocharger
$8,500 without the turbocharger
Or trade for cheaper f-body + at least $5000 to pay the Firehawk off. Trade value of Firehawk will be $9,000 not $8,500
You guys don't know how much I REALLY HATE to see this go after I just dropped $3300 into it. IF ONLY I could financially afford it for awhile. One day I'm going to regret this.

here's an option for you guys, you can pick up a used Procharger kit on ls1tech for around $3500. if you bought the car at $8500 and bought the used kit you'd have less than $13,000 in a tuned Procharged Firehawk.
price edit: make it $8500 without the turbocharger. Add $1000 for the turbocharger if you want it.Last edited by candlelit; 08-22-2008 at 03:40 PM.

update: we got the master-slave cylinder quick connect problem fixed. car is drivable now. but after a half dozen times starting it and letting it run, it decided it didn't want to start this evening. we were told it's probably the crank sensor came loose after driving the car in the yard, or perhaps another sensor. it would crank but not fire. the spark plugs weren't getting any spark. we'll get that fixed tomorrow hopefully.

Black- 00' Firehawk T/A
Hey, what's up? I think I've seen you around here; I live in Stillwater on Duck street and have a black Firehawk with a cam running open headers.
I want to come see your 'hawk and I'm thinking about putting that turbocharger on mine!

Yup, I'm right across from the library. My hawk's getting stripes painted on and also all the Firehawk decals painted on, so I have my truck up here right now...Should look pretty good when it's done.
Here's a picture of it right there on 6th and duck:

sweet dude. I've heard my brother talking about another Firehawk around here like mine but had no idea I would be talking to the owner. what kind of stripes are going on it?
yeah, the avatar picture is my old 98 T/A I got rid of last year. had the ws9 hood, blackbird stripes, torque thrusts, & many mods. you may have seen it if you've been in Stillwater awhile. as for the Hawk, it's still @ my brothers. should be getting close to figuring out why it won't fire.

lol funny how we communicate on both forums.
I don't need a trade + cash, but I would accept one if it's enough funds to pay the Hawk off ($4000 maybe, $5000 easily). I can sell it outright since I've got a new car now. Yes, for some reason when we first drove it it made a grind sound goingfrom 2nd to 3rd, though it goes in gear pretty efficient. But my brother drove it and he shifted from 2nd to 3rd at certain rpms where it didn't make any grind. Downshifting from 4th to 3rd there isn't a grind, so I think it may just need a new steel fork or synchro, maybe even rebleeding the system may fix it? I'll drive it later this evening and get more details on how she runs.

Do you think the car is reliable enough to make it back to CA?

So without a tune you wouldn't trust it?
