Who makes the best Stroker Kit?
Well simple as that, who makes the best one...im thinking either 383 or 396... what has to be done to the stock block to prep it?

Do some research, dont restrain yourself to simply what is offered in a "kit" form. There are lots of good individual components out there. If you want the best of everything... here is where I would start... Crankshaft: Callies, Crower... Rods: Oliver, Crower, Carrillo... Pistons: Ross, JE

GMHTP featured an article on Golen Engine Services and their 396 LT1 stroker. If you have questions, they might be a good place to start asking questions. They talked about some of the things you have to watch out for when trying to achieve the 396. But you may not have some of these problems with the 383 though. As far as kits, I here Lunati a lot.

The 383 is simpler, The block has to be grounded in a few places for the crank to clear, Your local machine shop can do the proper block clearances, Also make sure you get the assembly balanced, Even if it comes pre-balanced, They have been known to be off, Especially with the parts I have seen lately.

Personally I would go for an LE1 kit. Great price and great preformance.
