    What gears should i get?

    ok i have a 96 trans am, longtube headers, orypipe, borla catback, short throw 6 speed shifter, k&n cai, delete egr/air....my gears are stock and i want to change them out , what size do yall think i should go with 4:10 , 3:73 or what?

    I wouldn't go with anything other than 4.10's for an M6.

    no question about 410s in this case!!!! i might go less with a 400 PLUS rwhp car but in your case id say 410s....i might go with 390s or 373s when my rear end shits

    For the value, go with Motive Gear. There ring and pinions are quite and durable as well.

    A friend of mine just installed a set of Motive 4.10's on his '97 Z28 M6. The gears ran him $170 shipped off E-bay and the install was $300 at a local shop. He wen't with a Raytech install kit for $40 shipped from Summit Racing.

    ok so how do i know which install kit do i need to get? how do u know which one to get , one guy said the 3001k from summit and another said the 108k from summit? whats the difference

    Ok well my buddy is wanting to go back stock on his z28 cause he drives a lot of highway, and I only drive mine on the weekends, but her is wanting stock and he wants to trade me, just swap out the whole rear end for rewar end, he has a 95 firebird rear end with 4:10 and he wants to go back to stock, so u think I should do it?

    That would be the way to go. Make sure he has no gear whine. Do both cars have traction control?

    I just got my 9" with 4.11's back today and wow the car enters its power band much quicker probably one of the more noticable mod I have done

    It has a different abs system with or without traction control.
