VIN check

well, im still looking at this Formula Firebird and im worried bout the engine light being on the lady had it tested but it came back as nothing wrong they dont know why the engine light is on so ive decided to get a VIN check maybe this will help so i dont drop $4200 and BOOM im fucked cause something is wrong and it will cost another $4200 to fixed. I was woundering if any one knows where i can get it done for free and not spend $30 *carfax* or can i take it to pontiac or call the insurance company and they can do it for free, any help will work please.

honestly, I would just spend the money and get a year of car fax and charge your buddies $5 to look up thier cars. I think it is like $40 to do it for a year. I would never buy a car with out a car fax, but that is just me.

thanks alot for the car fax, everything looks good, ive noticed the car was in california, the lady said her dad lived out there in San Dieago and when he passed away they brought it back into ohio, but ive got an offer on my car, and maybe it will sell today and i can pick up my Formy eaither 2day or tomorrow, if no one buys it before me then ill truley be VERY PISSED off!
