vaccum line?

There is, and i have the chiltons manual but... it only shows the other two lines coming out of whatever that thing is and there both connected. Thus my confusion.

looking at the pic it may just vent to the outside. is it EVAP or AIR

I have a 96 and don't have a hose coming out of there. Try starting the car up and putting your finger over it. If you feel suction plug it up. It looks like there should be a piece of plastic hose going to it.

That is your evap cannister purge solenoid. I just went out and looked at my wife 97 Z (a bone stocker that hasn't been messed with) and it's the same way,,,,just a rubber elbow going to nothing.

I assume it's probably a vent of sorts for the solenoid. No worries.
