    Sputtering at high RPM's

my 1995 Z28 sputters at 4800+ RPM's. the only mods i have done to the vehicle are an SLP intake, exhaust, and Hooker headers. There are no codes showing up on the ODB reader. anyone have any ideas what could possibly be giving me this problem. I am leaning towards a MAF sensor but i just want to get some input from some others before i make a decision. Thanks in advance for everyones input.

ICM, Optispark, plugs, wires. If you've got a gauge handy, check your fuel pressure just for shits and grins. Probably isnt it, but it isnt hard to check. I dont think it is the MAF, but if you know someone with a 95, just trade MAFs with them and you'll find out pretty quick.

i have new plugs and wires on the vehicle and have crossed them off the list. i am looking at fuel related issues, such as fuel pressure, possible bad fuel ><, and have replaced the fuel filter as well. moving to ignition next.

I had a similar problem after changing plugs and wires in my 1994 T/A. No one could figure out what was wrong until someone checked the brand new plug wires and they ruined and were arching. I doubt you have the same problem, but you never know.

Oh my gosh, me too, same problem, same basic rpm!!! My car just has a cat delete, Magnaflow muffler, and a supposed chip (haven't checked yet), plus a shift kit, but it stumbles once the tach gets up by 5000 and only under load, it free-revs fine.
