putting a lt1 out of 96 camaro
i was planning on jacking my car up real high droping the engine and tranny together with a jack and some supports... any pointers?

Get the GM shop manual read through the procedure. Keep safty first. Do a Google to look to see how others have done it. Keep the beer in the cooler until the motor is on the ground.

A group of us helped a friend pull (drop!) the engine from his 4th gen.
Unbolt everything.
Remove the Brakelines (they run under the engine)
ensure all wire's, cables, hoses are disconnected.
Use Engine lift the lift the car up. It is har and has to get way upthere. But it works.
