part id... connector above oil drain plug
whats the connector on the drivers side about 3 inches above the oil drain plug on a 96 lt1 m6? oil level sensor?
edit: ok found pic, thats what it is.
question now is, its leaking... replace whole sensor? or dump oil, pull it out and use some threadlocker or thread tape? the picture i found of the sensor on autozones site looks like its plastic threading..?

Napa has one that is cheaper and looks more like the one that is in there stock but yes that is what it is and you would be better off changing it because you can see what there made out of. http://napaonline.com/Search/Results...+50012+2012008

i didnt get it yet but i pulled the box at autozone, it doesnt look like that but its still plastic.. was longer, black and had some white plastic piece around sensor. i did notice it had a rubber oring though, im guessing the stock one is simple rotted out after 15 or so years haha

the stock has a brass fitting over the plasic sensor I think but yea they do get old and crack. The auto zone one has a stub head on it, could help if you need clearance but I don't know.
