Oil pan
Just an off the qall question.
Is there an oil overflow on an LT1 Corvette oil pan? If so, where is it located?

Well......I have a slight oil leak and a friend of mine was over (he is not much of a car guy) and I told him it is probably the rear main seal. I say this because of were the leak is, it drips down on to the oil plug on the back of the pan and then on to the floor. Its not a major leak, just a tiny one. Well anyway, he says "Maybe there is just a little much oil in it and its coming out the over flow." lol Never heard of it before but figured I would ask. lol

I don't think I'd let your friend diagnose any more car-related issues ... low fuel, maybe, but only if the light is on.
Rear main seal is a possibility. An oil pressure sensor or rear intake leak is more likely.

Well....I thought that I ruled out an intake leak because I was on top of the car (one foot on each tire!) with my left hand on the top of the intake and the flash light in my right hand.....hahah If I would have slipped it would have been a disaster as you can imagine!
Well anyway, I didnt see any leak at all from the back of the intake. There is no oil on any of the wires and I can read the block numbers perfectly on the drivers side and the back of the block on the passenger side I see nothing but a clean block.
Would you say that is the rear main or am I missing a spot where the intake could be leaking? Where is the oil pressure sensor and what causes them to leak?

Oh and Mitch.....my friend baffled me with that statement but I thought it was worth a question since I have NEVER heard of that before.....haha
He put 87 octane in my GTO one day when I asked him to pump it while I was getting us a couple of drinks. We went and got some octane boost right away......

OP sensor is on the back, driver's side. It's a big metal balloon looking thing. Should have a wire going to it. Screws into the top of the block.

I just pulled a 100k engine and everything BUT the rear seal was leaking. It can get blown back from the front of the engine.
