    no spark help!!!!

I have a 94 t/a with the lt1 my car will turn over but not start. I'm getting power to all sources and a good ground (I used a test light on my harness) I took my icm to get tested it failed so I replaced it still no start so I replace the coil and yet again still no spark not even from the coil wire I take the new icm and coil back and get new ones thinking they may be defective and still no spark coming out of the coil wire. I'm pretty sure I'm not getting bad parts back to back and I don't think my computer would be bad to let me get power to the icm coil and options plus let my fuel pump prime I have also checked all fuses they are fine. No security light. Or ses light help me out if u can I'm lost

The water pump is new and doesn't The icm power. The coil and the coil power the opti. I'm not getting any spark out of the coil and both the icm and coil are new too been replaced twice in on day

This video is long and dry but gives good optispark system trouble shooting advice.

Have you checked all of your wiring and connections between the relevant components? Also, in the past some folks have actually had problems with the PCM that have caused ICM issues.

I had the same problem with mine was not getting anything to the pig tail going to the dist. ended up having to buy a new PCM and got it tuned for the car It fixed the ignition problem and also my fans started to work again. after changing the pcm i had another issue and it was my dist. it would work some times and not others kinda weird i would tap on the cover and it would start right up so changed it out with the MSD i had purchased some time ago everything runs great now.

Opti, coil, or ignition control module could all cause a no spark condition. Although usually an opti failing causes a rough running and hesitation issue.

What kind of plugs are you using? My old LT1 fouled many of plugs in its day. If the plugs are ok then I would bet it is the opti.

Replace the opti is what I would do. I would also replace the plugs, wires and water pump while your at it.

Have you verified that this is a no spark issue and not fuel related? Dont go throwing parts at it without knowing. It may very well be the opti but it's an expensive part to just throw at the car and hope. Any codes? Was the car ever datalogged before this happened? Did this start out as a certain drivability issue that got worse, or just one day instant no-start?

Chances are it's the Opti. I wouldn't over analyze it. He has what's most likely an original opti and probably needs changed.

Yeah, it may be. I just prefer not to throw parts at something on a guess, especially when the parts arent cheap. Lots of people have done exactly that based on internet advise, and ended up wasting alot of money on unnecessary parts. Just my opinion.
