Lt1 heads
IS IT POSSIBLE TO RUN lt1 HEADS ON AN OLDER SBC ?

I know you can convert standard SBC heads for reverse coolant flow (LT1 block), but I havent heard of someone doing the reverse. I would guess that it can be done with some cooling port reconfiguring though, but I'm not 100%

The lt1 heads don't have coolant passages going to the intake manifold. Not sure how you would get coolant to the thermostat unless someone machined passages in.

Get some vortec heads. Port wise they are the same as LT1 heads.

Vortec heads can be had for like 500$ new for a pair. They're pretty cheap, cheaper yet from a junkyard I'm sure.
