The guy is telling me there is no way to run my exhaust with long tube headers. I need advice on how to run it. I know its possible. I just need to know how its set up.

Need more info. What kind of exhaust are you wanting to run? Which LT headers are they?

Did he say what the exact problem was? Are you running an off-road y-pipe or catted y-pipe? What all does your exhaust setup consist of, aside from the headers?
You can always try another shop if you think the guy doesn't know what he's doing or doesn't know what he's talking about. Unless you've got some sort of exotic exhaust setup, I don't see what the problem is.

Well they say the longtubes stick out too far for them to run it back to the original y

Seems like a little fabrication work could fix that problem without too much of a hassle. I'm guessing the y is stock?

There are aftermarket y pipes made to fit long tubes. That being said, any competent exhaust shop can bend and weld up a y pipe if needed. It wouldnt be mandrel bent, but it could work. And if you want it to be quiet and still good for performance, run a high flow cat and a good muffler such as borla, magnaflow, etc. And make sure the exhaust exits in the stock location at the rear bumper.

You can't run the OE Y-pipe to LT headers. This also removes the cats if you run an ORY, maybe that's why the exhaust shop won't touch it. Many suppliers have Y-pipes to connect from you headers to the stock I-pipe. You can get a catted Y-pipe, but this puts the converters in a not-from-the-factory location, and if the emission police get technical, they won't like you.

I have pacesetter LTs on a 93 LT1, and I had the same issue. The shop I went to got some 3" tube and two mufflers, rigged up the whole system custom from headers to tips, and I believe they only charged $350-$400 installed. And I lifted it up, and it actually looks real clean and original.
