is money an issue? i think i mighta talked to you a while back about the same thing. i come across them time to time, but if money's not an issue the edelbrock is a great piece as im sure you already know. ive heard claims of people usin lt1 manifolds but i cant imagine that to be a fun task.

Money isnt really the issue, although were hoping to pick up a lt4 for fairly cheap. If not were gonna Port the stock one to match our heads and Throttle body. If you run accross one within the next few weeks give me a shout. Otherwise Im gonna have the stock one ported by next week.

edelbrock sells LT4 intakes. make sure to port match with your lt1 heads, or it'll flow like ASS!

I'd try to search ebay maybe for a lt4 intake. I bet its kinda hard to find a stocker though

ya Im not looking to buy the 500$ eldebrock, I can make the stock lt1 manifold flow as much as those. I have been told the Stock lt4 is the best flowing manifold out if I can find one. Ive searched ebay with no results. Seems there hard to find.

Most of those advertised on ebay are not a true stock lt4 intake. There an aftermarket lt1 basically ported. According to my local dyno guys the lt4 intake has a different runner design or something but they say it will out flow a stock ported lt1 easily.

I think the ports are a raised a little higher. Do you have lt4 heads?

No we dont have lt4 heads. We have Stock heads thats been ported/ Polished and Bigger SS valves installed.

I think with the combo we have put together we will make little over 400Rwhp. It will be on the dyno in about 2 weeks.

I would just port the stock lt1 manifold then. Might as well open the throttle body opening too and use a bigger tb.

ya we already got a bigger tb(58mm) and injectors(32lbs)

I dunno about the port matching the lt4 intake to the lt1 heads. They never said anything about that. I was told it was a direct bolt on.

you will be porting the hell out of any lt4 manifold you purchase. . . . .lt4 manifolds come with long slender ports that need to be opened up a lot. just look forward to it and make sure the shop fridge is full . . . . .

even on stock lt1 castings you will be opening up an lt4 manifold a good bit (shape). any ported or aftermarket castings will put you in a position to do some extensive work. no worries it's power in the end.

Ya There is alot of hours ahead of me for sure in the porting department lol. I gotta port the heads to accept the bigger valves, along with the runners. The intake to match the heads and the throttle body opeing also. Lol I would say a good 15hrs worth.
