    Heads/Cam?

    can you guys tell me how much labor would run me for a heads and cam install on my 97 WS6.thanks

    That depends on the shop and location. You'll just have to ask your local shop.

    I was quoted for a headers install for $500 if that gives you any indication about the H/C. With H/C, there's a lot more work and detail in the installation. My guess would be $800-$1500.

    check out www.need2speed.com most of the members are in your area. they could give you a better idea and know some of the better places. good luck.

    I know a guy who wants to sell me his AFR heads and i would buy my cam from Thunder Racing. i really havent looked into it too much. i want to see how much labor would be before i thought about buying the parts

    i would say send them to a porter and have them worked over. afr's for lt1's don't flow that great out of the box (i had a set of afr 190's) then have a cam cut to match the head flow numbers. if you are going to do this you might aswell do it right the first time.

    i was wondering if i just got a cam installed for now if it would be a bad idea. and how much i would gain from it. im pretty tight on cash for the next 3 months

    if your only gonna be tight on cash for 3 months, just wait. its not worth buying a cam when you gonna do head work and need to change again. thats taking 1 step forward and then going back 2.

    i hear that just didnt know if i could put them cam in now and do the heads to match the cam later.

    Depends on the cam that you are looking at getting. What are the cam specs that you're looking at?
