Exhaust?

I have my 94 Corvette 6-speed up for sale but if I dont sell it I will not be heart broken as I really do enjoy driving the car.

My dad and I both have LT1 Corvettes and we were talking about doing an exhaust swap.

I found some shorty headers that bolt to the stock Y-pipe and then a cat back that would bolt on as well. Granted I realize that shorty headers dont do the same as long tubes but I am looking for some power gains over stock with the ease of bolt on changes.

Would there be much power increase by leaving in the stock Y-pipe and cats as long as I put on the shorty headers and a cat back? Its only around $1,000 for everything so its not like it will break the bank.

The stock vette y pipe flows better than the stock F body unit, but still, you'll be leaving power on the table with the stock piece still on the car. And yes, you will gain power by putting shorty headers on; anything is better than the stock manifolds.

I know I would be leaving some power out there but the ease of not having to jerk with the Y pipe might be worth it.....lol

Someone just told me that shorty headers HAVE to be better than the stock units. So it looks like I will be looking in to ordering this stuff this weekend.
