debating on buying lt1

well, i found a lt1 on craigslist that im thinking about buying, i currently have a 95 firebird v6, i was wondering will the transmission bolt right onto the lt1 or do i need a diffrent tranny. i think i remember someone saying something about the housing is diffrent or something like that, so i came here for some info.

if it's an auto I would post this under auto transmissions. it's a sub under the drivetrain tab. Can't recall right now so I would post it under drivetrain.
If it is a 5 speed... I belive the answer is no.

If your talking about doing a V6 to V8 swap, there is a lot more then you think involved.
