Car is skipping
I repaced a bad pigtail on the distributor and started the car back up. It runs fine while it is cold. When it get warm it starts skipping when idling. When you hit the gas it bogs down. It is like it is starving for gas. I changed the fuel filter and dumped the gas in a container lit a match and threw it in the container and it went out. I looked like it had water in it. The gas is no longer in the tank it has 93 in there now but still has the same problem. Does anyone think that the water in the tank made the plugs go bad? When i get the car going i can floor it and it doesn't act up.

I'd check the diagnostic codes

ya. need to check DTC's somehow. That's always 1st. I think the 95's were only ODBI not ODBII so you should be able to jumper the test pin to ground at the ALDL. And then read the code without any special tool..

fuel pump comes on when the key is turned on..
And if you have odbII then you may not be able to jumper the test pin. It's in the Haynes book.Last edited by Chad97SS; 06-28-2008 at 08:05 AM.

bought an adapter for that and that didn't work. check engine light is not on. The last thing that i am going to try is egr valve. Could my ecu be fried? I Only have 6500miles on motor since i rebuilt it.

I don't think i have enough information to make good guess. You said you rebuilt the motor.. Is this still an LT1? Is it still fuel injection? Its really hard to say what would cause it to bog down and miss when its warm and not cold. And especially with no codes.. maybe you have a vaccuum line not re-installed properly? Maybe your TPS switch is not working properly? really hard to say.

I figured it out. it was the vacuum line. They were switched up. Thanks for the help. And the motor is still the same but i have a 319 cam. been ported and bored 30over Special valves and springs. don't really know everything my dad got the kit for me and helped me put it together. Car is running perfect now
