Wth is this??
Hello all....Okay, so I just bought my first bird last week. I was looking it over this weekend (making my ever-growing wishlist) and found something, but I don't know what it is. I've checked the forum and google, but can't find anything about it. It's the round plastic thingy directly under the AC/Heat controls. It's obviously melted, but I dunno what to look for in order to replace it. Any ideas??
Thanks guys for any info. I apprecaite it.

Blackened fire chicken- 2000 Pontiac Trans Am WS6
it was a cup holder...might have to either buy a whole new center console, or just replace the cup holder

no problem...i found just the cupholder on ebay.

its cheaper then buying a whole console. If the cupholder doesnt work, since it looked like it was ripped out, youll have to buy a console with the cupholder on it already...i found some used ones on ebay as well for around $120Last edited by godless-phoenix; 02-06-2012 at 10:37 AM.

Haha that is the 1st time I have evrr seen that. Just mod it with a clear tinted cover to make it look cool.
Those cup holders are not very useable. There flimsy and abit useless.

I used mine all the time because the one behind the shifter is right in the middle of the armrest and shifter. I use that(arm rest/center console) to rest my arm on and a drink there always gets in the way.

Yes that is the most anoying thing ever, I put mine in the rear cup holders or between the passanger seat and the center console. I would not worry about the broken cup holder its real flimsey which is why its broken. Just cut off the stub and if your fealing ambitious put a coat of paint over it.

Yep that cup holder right there was the only one i ever used. Ive never heard of anyone taking that off and i dont know why. Its a "hide-away" swivel cup holder, thats why it looks so awkward with it missing lol.
Heres a pic of it closed

Actually- I found the missing cupholder in the trunk. Of course...not doing me much good since it's broken. I just kinda set it back in it's place under the dash, just so I don't have a blank, funny lookin' void of a cupholder. lol And from what I hear about this cupholder, apparently it's no more less functional now than it was before it was broken. lol
Is that a Snuggy in your front seat? lol

Just to give you an idea of what it should look like, and it is for sale. And I will be pretty close to Houston in about 3 months

Only this is he has an auto haha. You could always use the broken cupholder as an excuse to swap in a 6 speed

First things first for me- tires, suspension, rear end and subframe connectors are at the top of the list.

I appreciate the offer, but I'm gonna pass. If I'm gonna drop that much coin, I want it to match. Thanks for your help though.

You've got your priorities right in line. Let us know what you decide on the rear end. That's my next project. From what I've gathered on this forum, the stock rears can be an explosion waiting to happen. It's got me going pretty easy on it until I can do a swap.Magnaflow Quad Tip, Lid, SBellow
