WS6 airbox

Anyone know where I can get a taller WS6 airbox for my non ws6 car?

Did you change your hood for the ramair hood,cause you'll need the taller hood.You can sometimes find it on the forums for sale or if i'm not mistaken you can get it at GM Parts Direct.com

I think I had a quote from the ws6store for $125 if I remember correctly.

It's cheaper trhrough GMPD.

I'd say check ebay or call some local junkyards.

I bought a used SLP lid off ebay for $60 a few years back and the guy shipped the lid, ws6 lowerbox and smooth bellows (He sold the cheapest part).

just a lid yes . . lid with ssra or maybe free ram air mod, its prob not much better. but i have no data to back that up, just a guess. imo, theyre just cool cuz that actually make the ram air do something. . . stock its pretty insignificant

okay thanks, so if i had a lid with the free ram air mod or something similar to that, would that be equal to the FTRA, slp cold air kit, and K&N FIPK? the K&N FIPK is pretty much the samething as the volant right?

I hate the look of the Volant, takes away from the beauty of the LS1 (too big and bulky)...I sealed my hood to my Air box using window stripping, looks clean and is now more effective.

This is one of the reasons I wanted to go with the stock Ram Air box over the Volant. I like the stock look a lot. Volant looks OK, but looks outa place with the rest of the motor. I still haven't made a decision yet but I have all winter : )
