WS6
I keep reading where people are asking if their car is a real transam WS6, now im wondering if mine is a real one. What the difference between a firebird and a transam WS6. When i bought my car i was under the impression that it was a transam WS6.

WS6 has little better suspension, ram air hood, different rims, different exhaust/ lid. They are not really any faster than a non-ws6 trans am. Suspension is minimal upgrade, the hood does nothing but make it look better, rims do nothing, exhaust is almost as restrictive as the base model. Alot of people try to make them look like WS6 replicas. It should tell you in your door code if its a real WS6.

Look at your drivers door for a sticker that has the RPO codes.
Look for WS6 - Performance Package Special
This will tell you if your car came from the factory as a WS6.

Where are your foglights?
Outside edge under the headlights or close in near the license plate?

Ok i read on my drivers door sticker and it does say WS6 and my headlight are close to my license plate. So it is a real WS6 right because that one thing i was worried about when i bought it.

sold: 1999 firebird- 1998 Trans Am
he has a trans am, hes just wondering if its a real ws6
okay guy
Firebird = v6
Firebird Formula = looks like v6 but has v8
Firebird Formula WS6 = sameas above but has ramair, better wheels etc.
Trans Am = has body kit, has v8
Trans Am WS6 same as above but has ramair, better wheels etc.
on your drivers side door there is a white sticker that has a series or three digit codes such as AAA, LS1, MM6, etc, look for WS6, that will confirm.Last edited by justinmc978; 02-04-2010 at 01:03 PM.

I wasn't 100% sure since he mentioned Firebird as well.
Kinda sounded like he was wondering if he had a Formula WS.6 or T/A WS.6.
But yeah, all Trans Am's are Firebirds (and if I am not mistaken, they are all also Formula's...RPO=W66).
*too lazy to go check my own car for it right now*

I checked mine out also a few weeks ago. I was relieved to see the WS6 on the door sticker. Thanks for the info.
