    Winter Mods

Alrighty. Might as well rip her apart.
Starting Tuesday when i finally get a whole day at home...ill get me some work done.

    1. I'll be installing my new interior. headliner, visors, and carpet. i also need to run my seatbelts thru my new seatbelt guides.

    2. Ill be installing the exhaust from the Y back (i dont feel like messing with Motor Mounts or LTs)
    http://www.ls1.com/forums/showthread.php?t=117548
^^didnt find half of this write up useful because of blurry pics (im kind of a visual learner)

    3. Wire Hide
-how did you tape/hold up your wires?

    4. All Time Fog Mod

    5. Cruise Control Relocation
    -HELP?

    6. Then ill be removing the AIR/ERG.
    http://www.ls1.com/forums/showthread.php?t=130641
I still need to buy the block offs for ERG. (thunder racing i believe someone once told me)
But a few questions on the AIR for a 1999...
-pajeff02 says i should have air lines running to my lid/resonator? but i thought that was only on '00-'02s?
-I understand removing the pump and lines, but how do i remove the check valves?
-do i need to remove the fuse and relay?
-how do you hold up your left over wires? somekind of tape or something?
-where do all the lines run so i know when i have them all out?
-i need a write up for ERG delete too...please

finish up with a nice bath [and wax if it really will be 50 friday] and clean the interior and engine bay

I ripped all of my EGR out and blocked the ports from the headers.

EGR - Exhaust Gas Recirculation - Emissions controll device. Injects exhaust gas back into manifold for re-circulation. Came on 98-00 f-bodies only. Never on y-body or 01-02 f-body due to revised camshafts.

    Removal Pro's:
Cleans engine bay, less weight, easier to work on things, pure air > burnt air.
    Removal Con's:
Could cause you to fail "visual" inspection depending on how strict your state is. Removing without tuning work will cause Service Engine Soon (SES) light, dead giveaway to inspectors. Sniffer tests could be a problem as EGR cuts down on NOX gasses. Blockoff plates for exhaust manifolds required unless using "race" headers.

    Example)
    - Texas "visual" - pop the hood, don't look at anything, close hood, $12.50.
    - California "visual" - pop hood, tech LOOKS FOR EGR, kicks you in the nuts.

what i did was i took the whole housings out...
i drilled three holes on the bottom of the housings
one in the middle and in the front corners...so they act as drains
havent had a DRL out for 3 months now (possibly a record)
    knock on wood.

got a new radiatior back in september. starting to leak again tho :/

When the SES light comes on after removing the AIR, can it be turned off with one of the handheld diagnostic computers like a Craftsman?

Handhelds are crap. All of them.

Yeah but it will come back on again a few miles down the road. It need to be deleted from the tune so that the computer doesn't recognize it as a missing item.

That is what Dan did last year. Fucking mean. Bitch trapped 133MPH at 3600 feet.

I figure I will end up keeping mine and letting it sit for a while if it isn't sold by April.

That is awesome! I am hoping for around 137-140mph at sea level once I do that.

Sorry to you are selling it but I understand. I hate how everyone is always saying they will buy it but when its for sale no one is ever serious enough. I had the same issue with mine that is why I ended up keeping it. Plus that told all the low ballers to kiss my MF'in ass when they saw me at MIR racing it.
