    Will this hurt anything?!?!?

Will it hurt anything to take the upper grille out on my 00 WS6? I feel like this a stupid question but I did a search and didn't find anything...

so your ram air hood doesn't go straight into the intake either huh?.....it goes around a little plactic thingy first and then into the intake right?

yup..its actually not very effective..air has to make 2 180 degree turns to reach ..r/a hoods are for show more then anything. get a underneath air kit.

can't you just cut out the two black pieces on the lower air box....to get the underneath air kit.....sort of like the "ram air mod"........that you see on all the mod sites?

I have those baffels removed on my hood (previous owner), just a few rivits and they come right out it looks like. I have driven mine in rains and through touchless carwashs with no issue, a not of caution though, if you catcha big enough splash of another vehicle or sit in the spray of one too long the water could make its way into the intake system.

You could, i prefer the cooler air coming from in front of the car my self and it came that way when i got it. Truthfully though I really dout that either add any really great gains, but it all adds up.

http://www.ls1speed.com/catagory.cfm?catagory=Induction for a better fit, look at the BG Ram Air System about half way down the page. I have this without the rain guard and I have the plastic cut out under neath the air box. As far as water getting in there, only happened once in the 3 years I have had the car with the mod. All it did was clogged my air filter and set off the Check Engine light. Replaced filter light went out no more problems. Hasn't happened since I took out that paper filter and put in a K&N.
