What's the dumbest thing asked about your car?

It's been awhile since I've had ppl come up and (without me asking) insist that their input on how my car should look like or have on it. This weekend was a winner.

At a cruise in at the local Sonic. I'm still the only F-body that comes, several Vettes and Buttstangs, but a nice collection of true classics there too. Even a S-10 with a LS1 that is getting built. Me and him compared engines and suggest a couple of things for each others build. Really good guy. While we were at mine, along comes this guy. First, doesn't even know what he's talking about when it comes to Trans Ams or it seems cars in general. Thought my car was a Sunfire

Can't read huh? Then he goes on to suggest that I upgrade to a V8 and get it running right with headers? (Look at my signature and enjoy the laughter) He even argues with me about whether it is or not a LS1. The S10 guy tells him to count the plug wires dumbass. <had me

)

And then the winner of all his suggestions............

This would look really good with 22's and spinners on it.

Our reactions:

He then starts getting to close, otherwise started rubbing against the paint and wanting to tough stuff in the engine bay. That's when I politely tell him that that touching a man's car is like touching his woman. He get's the hint to

and move on.

So I'm curious as to what other dumbass suggestions ppl have made to your cars.

Had a guy with a '99 Mustang GT come up and check out my car last week at a show. He said he bought his new, but was looking at a WS.6 before he bought it. He said since they both had the same HP, he went with the Mustang. He seemed like a nice guy otherwise, so I left him in his delusions to wander the rst of the show.

Had another guy tell me I should put hydraulics on it. I laughed in his face, and walked away.

One of Wickedls1's buddies didn't want to race me cause I was a girl. But other than that, not with the TA.

My 65 is another story. When I was a teenager, I always got, "does your dad know your at the track with his car? Or, now I'm older, they ask me why I let my husband/bf put a stoker motor in my "pony car". I'm like, this us MY car, and I built the motor. I didn't want no puss mustang. Lol

My neighbor has a 90s mustang tv body coverted to a low compression carbed 302 and said that gm has never made a trans am or camaro that could out run his mustang so when a asked him to run them the tipical mustang excuses came out.

Had a neighborhood kid come by when I was working on my car one day and ask if it was a Viper.....ok the kid was like 12 but Viper..really?
I politely told him it was a Trans Am not a Viper, hopefully his car education advances before he reaches 16.

I've had no real comments on my Camaro. But, back when I had my Chevelles, I'd constantly get the "is that your husbands car?" Used to piss me off

You know what... It's been 10 years since I sold my last Chevelle. It was stolen 3 f'n times! I had a 69 and a 69 1/2. The 69 1/2, I built, it was an impressive 'street car' and drove it as my daily driver for over 13 years. Point being, It still pisses me off when I hear that

i get young guys that drive vettes that always tell me that im going to need alot more then H/C and spray to beat there barely bolton or stock c-5,c-5 z06 or c-6. thats always a funn race when i walk right on past them on motor. then we get back and they commence to tell me i sprayed on them so we race again only for them to actually get sprayed on then tell me how they "conveniently" have to go home. (this has happened 3 times now)
