Black on Black- 2001 Firebird T/A WS6
Depends on what you find and what your preference is...like color and manual or automatic. I personally like the FireHawk and I really wish I would of heald out til I found a 2002. I have a 01 WS6, I love it, but I'm the kind of person who loves rarety. A FireHawk is way more rare than a WS6. I'd say seeing a FireHawk on the streets is like seeing a Mustang Saleen on the streets driving around or even a Lambo. It's very rare that you see one unless you know someone that owns one. The only difference between a WS6 and a FireHawk mostly is a few looks, like the hood is different and some FireHawks have an extra ground effect on the front on the bottom and they have like 30 more horsepower than a WS6..to my knowledge but I could be wrong.

Navy Blue Metallic- `98 Formula M6 HdTp
The List
1) FireHawk
2) WS6
3) Trans Am
4) Formula
This is a basic list The Hawks and WS6's are both available as Formula's or Trans Am's, so ypur choice will depend on looks
WS6 Formula's were only built between `98-`00 600+ total cars
Formula FireHawks are almost as rare, About 100 built anually from `99-`02
All have the same engine and make about the same power.

Best is whatever you like best. They all have the same powertrain. I like TA's and WS6's myself. Don't care for Firehawks or NHRA's.

black, 05 Roush- black, 99 T/A WS.6
I prefer the Trans am front end and upper level spoiler, if I had my pick I would take a Trans am Firehawk but I have a Trans am WS.6 and satisfied with it. Dont care too much for the formula wether it be a WS.6 or Firehawk. just my .02$

Are you looking to purchase this vehicle as an investment, or are you looking at it from a pure perfromance viewpoint? What do you mean by "best"?
Performance...
1. Firehawk
2. Formula WS6
3. Formula/Trans Am WS6
4. Trans Am
Collectors Potential
1. Firehawk
2. Formula WS6
3. Trans Am WS6
4 Trans Am/ Formula
Bang for your Buck in current market...
1. Formula WS6
2. Trans Am/ Formula
3. Trans Am WS6
4. Firehawk
It all depends on what you are looking for....if you are looking for pure performance, than the firehawk or WS6 Formula are the tickets...want a fun car at a decent price, look for a WS6 T/A...lots of them around....looking for an investment...the Firehawks and WS6 Formulas are the most rare, but hard to say if they will ever become collectibles....
Again, what do you mean by "best"?

For NHRAFORMULA'S last Quote. I would argue that one. The Hawks come from SLP with SLP lids (mine has the blackwing lid) and exhausts, so more power!, and since you wrote performance, then I also need to mention the suspension upgrades that SLP offers and installs, be a 1LE or Bilstien. I believe your argument is the weight loss difference between the cars, thus better power to weight ratio, Lets use 01-02's as an example. I dont think the 310 h.p. stripped down formula will outperform an 345 h.p. Firehawk, if you have the same driver, car for car. Thats my .02 cents.

black- 2000 nhra edition formula
the suspension upgrades really dont mean shit at the track. maybe it will help you for roadracing.
with just DRs, any f-body can get a dead hook minus expensive suspension upgrades.
a firehawk will dyno just alittle more than the other firebirds, but once again that means nothing at the strip. 5 more rwhp isnt giving you a tenth.
using the 345 firehawk rating was a slp marketing ploy and everybody that even has a small knowledge of f-bodys will agree.
as for weight, it plays a huge difference. every 100 pounds equals a tenth.
my formula is 3380 pounds. a fully loaded hawk is going to weigh im guessing 200+more pounds.
btw, my car isnt a stripper either.Last edited by nhraformula; 10-28-2006 at 09:25 PM.

Black Bird... power... looks... and rarity... 50 per year... 3 year run... maybe 4 year run... i think just 00, 01, 02 though... 380 hp in a stage 1.... stage 2 has like 425 hp i think (though i think under 10 of them were ever converted to stage 2)... there was and intended like 500 hp stage 3, but dont think any were eve made... withought finding a car that is like 1 of 1.... thats prolly gonna be your best firebird... but they are going for high $30k EASILY...

This is %100 correct. They all have the same powertrain. The gain from the SLP catback is negligent. If anything the 17' wheels on the Firehawk (I have a set, they're HEAVY) will cancel that out. The stiffer suspension upgrades are the exact opposite of what you want at the track.
