    Question What Year

Hello, new to the site. I have a 93 Trans Am and I'm going to purchase an LS1 model. What question is, is there a better year than others say 98 to 2000. I also have a chance at a convertible, any feedback? Thanks.

Depends on your budget...the newer the chance of less miles on the car. All the years have great motors, with minor changes with the ls1 and the car body. 98 has a different PCM then the other years, slightly bigger cam and bigger injectors..in 99 I think they went with smaller injectors.00 they put in better flowing exhaust manifolds and the A.I.R. system...also first year for the body color side mirrors and steering wheel radio controls.01-02 has the ls6 intake manifold(good thing, putting one on my 00), no egr.....i'm sure i'm missing all kinds of stuff, but that's the basics. Welcome to the board!!

As far as the vert...only thing I can think of is the extra weight and not being able to put on SFC's.

If you get a vert get SFC as soon as possible. I have seen them some where.

Maybe it's different for a TA But 00 was the first year for the camaro, so I was assuming it was the same for the f-body in general...here's a link I found..........http://auto.consumerguide.com/auto/u...x.cfm/id/2007/

right on...I was thinking someone somewhere had to make them....never seen them though. All the ones i've seen have a disclaimer saying not for verts. Are they designed different?

MY 96 WS6 has steering wheel controls too...also has the side molding and AIR injection system. Guess the Camaros did not come with all the stuff our Birds do . I have seen SFC for Verts as well too, not as many companies make them though. My personal opinion is stay with a hardtop or t-tops, weigh a lot less and are more rigid (compared to the vert), plus they look better to me. Good luck getting one man, when you get one dont let it go either!--Tony

We offer them here at Year One for the SFC's. They do cost a little extra but well worth it.

I have a question. Is it true the 98-99 ws6's have better suspensions then 00-02's? I think I heard that somewhere but I don't know why that would be true.
