What makes a ws6 a ws6???
ok lets say i throw a ram air hood, bigger airbox, better suspension, some ws6 rims, ws6 badges, 3.23 gears, hurst shifter would it perform just as a "real ws6" would. would it be concederd a ws6 or would i be wasting my time beucase you know that there are alot of haters that would say "oh thats not a REAL ws6" what do you guys think? what makes a ws6 a ws6? i mean same engine same body. did Pontiac just produce two different versions of the car to make more money????

no it wont be a true ws6. WS6 is an RPO code, and ur cars not gonna have it, however it will look just like and perform like one. Other than looks, there really isnt any performance differance in the base model trans am and WS6.

WS6 rear hatch and spoiler? I thought it has the Trans Am spoiler.
And I also thought it was 3.23 gears with an auto, 3.42 gears with a manual (on all LS1 firebird).

The rear hatch is the same on the WS6 Trans Am as on the non- WS6. The formula had the shorter rear spoiler

+1 I totally agree I saw a pre 05 gt with v-tech tuning on both sides of the hood scoop, not my cup of tea but i am sure someone thought it was cool.
If i were you i wouldn't even bother with a badge everyone knows a LS1 TA is bad ass badges or not. just don't put type R or v-tech on it lol

I'm gonna put "GT VTEC COBRA" on my rear quarter panels!!!
Claiming something you are not makes you a poser. If you're fine being judged/labeled, go for it. I'll personally pass...
If you put EVERY WS6 option on your vehicle, then you're a WS6 in my book. Who cares if it came with the RPO option from the factory...you are one now. But if you aren't one (don't upgrade to be one), then don't pose as one.

If you have a non-WS6 T/A, and you want to upgrade, than why WS6? If you are going to replace the suspension, you can easily go better (SLP shocks, torque arms, panhard bar, ect.). Same with the other components that makes your car a non-WS6. Dont get me wrong I envy anyone with a WS6 and am not saying they arn't badass, but with aftermarket parts, you can go better.

Haha this s what I like about these forums...
On most other forums you have the "Elitists" who say, "No matter what you do its not a WS6(or Cobra, or whatever) its just a base model with badges poser."
Here its Hey as long as you make it perform like one... it is one... even if the RPO doesn't say it is. I might get me a non ws6 to save cash for the upgrades I WILL be putting on it. Hey why bother with a WS6 if I'm changing EVERYTHING out....
Maybe I'll get a new base model Ford Mustang, pack it with and LS1 and all the chevy gear(Built Ford Tough with all CHEVY STUFF) just to tick off the Ford guys and hit both Ford and Chevy events..... Too typical? Maybe get a mach 1 hood for it, and put cobra badge up front, and maybe GT on the sides just to really have them

If there is no WS6 RPO on the door, regardless of what's been done to the car, it's NOT a REAL WS6. That's the facts, Jack. You can upgrade everything between the bumpers and make a car far superior in performance than a stock WS6, but as soon as you slap a WS6 badge on it, you are a POSER.

the way i see is that if you go and by you a ws6 you are paying at least 5 racks more just to have a hood wheels and suspension. tell me this how many people are going to keep that car srock???? most people are going to dump more money into trying to upgrade which well cost even more and there fore its not a true ws6 either. so why nor get a trans am for cheaper and put in what you want and make it a ws6 or ws7 or ws9 whatever i guess its all on who keeps there car stock or not and thats when you can tell if yours is fake or not other wise you cant
