This is what I want to do to my exhaust
I just bought a 99 trans am a couple of weeks ago. it still has the stock exhaust. I want to start at the cats and put in an X-pipe and dual 3 inch SLP loudmouths and dump it right before the axel. I understand this will be loud and raspy. But is this possible? I've looked under my car and I see there isn't much room. I haven't taken it to a muffler/welding shop yet. I just wanted to know if it could be done before I went up to the shop and looked like a total idiot for even asking.
Thanx

You basically could use the straight sections of the loudmouth including the resonator and the over axle sections, but you would have to have a muffler shop fab the driver side correctly and figure out the pipes to run out the back as exhaust tips.
My suggestion to avoid all of this unnecessary money waste: run straight pipes off of the cats over the axle with either an X or an H. Much easier and less expensive, plus you can hack and weld in mufflers later if you want.
