I greased that up (along with the upper bar)... I'm thinking that it's the spring making metal to metal contact on the spring perch on the axle. I'm going to try lowering the axle and putting a piece of hose around the bottom of the spring.
Only thing I'm worried about is torquing down the shock nut after putting it back together. Last time, I had a hard time getting that thing to the right torque (I think for whatever reason the bolt/nut on the other side was slipping or something...)Lid, Throttle Body, LS6 Intake, Heads, Cam, Magnaflow, LS7 Clutch, SFCs, STB, Panhard Bar, Strano Springs, Hollow Sway Bars, Poly/Roto LCAs, Konis, MGW Shifter

Oh the joy of vert ownership.
Hairline crack has caused all the fluid to leak out and down the fender.
Made a trip to Lowes and got a new t fitting and a new extension
which failed, too long. So another trip to another store this morning, this time the local NAPA store had what I needed.
Success, well after bleeding the air and refilling the fluid.

I swear to God my Trans Am is a vindictive, jealous bitch. Every time I work on another car it decides it wants more "attention".
Drove to Pensacola and as I was leaving the damn radiator blew the upper hose off, the tube broke off. I hate plastic radiators.
This time I'm getting an all aluminum. Found one for a decent price, just have to wait till the beginning of the month to get it.

2016 Camaro SS - Summit- 2001 Trans Am WS6 - NBM
Installed LEDs on all taillights and fog lights, and installed an electronic flasher. Still hunting a weird issue on the front right DRL/blinker that's been bugging me for a while now. It works with lights/parking lights on, and blinks when it's supposed to. It does not work at all without the lights on. I've got replacement LEDs coming in today, we'll see if that helps. The ones in the front now are cheap Sylvania LED.

We're gluttons for punishment Jon.
Replaced reverse lights, side markers and front turn signal/DRL with new LEDs. New lights solved the no DRL/blinker problem on the front passenger side. Old Sylvania LED pin got stuck in the socket, had some fun getting it out. Never again. Last incandescent bulbs are the headlights and third brake, but I've spent too much on both cars lately, so it will have to wait a bit.

Yes, mine sounds like crickets coming from that area. Never had it until I had aftermarket performance suspension parts installed. Kinda comes and goes. One of these days I'm gonna back it up on ramps to see what I can see. Until then that kick-ass sound system I have handles that noise quite nicely !

I've had to work this same issue many times. Can be suspension, can also be a slight rub from exhaust, or some of the heat shielding that is loose back there. If it only happens when the trans is in drive you might have to check it up in the air in drive with help that you can trust. Squeaks only in drive indicate that things are moving more than they should and may mean you also need to check your trans and engine mounts to see if they are worn out and allowing the drive train to shift. Good luck!

Well, mine happens over small bumps (not even bumps, really, but little imperfections in the road). Also, I can recreate the sound while jouncing the rear of the car up an down. Even when I'm under the car, it's hard to pinpoint exactly which component is making the sound. I'm going to try again this morning... I'm just hoping that I don't have to drop the axle to put some hose (or something) between the spring and the spring perch. I've heard that this can be the culprit sometimes. I had a really hard time torquing down the shock bolts when I installed them (couldn't get the car high enough off the ground to get a good turn on my torque wrench).

Our T/A has started getting hot if sitting idle for more than a minute. Fluid checked and good. Thinking thermostat most likely. It never ends fellas.

Had to do my radiator 2 weeks ago after the upper hose outlet broke off. I thought it was replaced when I did the engine swap in 2012 but turns out it was the orginal. It made it 21 yrs, so I'm not too pissed about that.
I was looking at getting an all aluminum one but damn.......

I need to look over the whole cooling system, but I haven't noticed any leaks. And I've been under the car A LOT lately. I will go ahead and do flush/new fluid when the thermostat is swapped.

I have noticed it's cooling much better than before. I have a 165° t stat and fans come on at 175° and on a 95° day it never went above 180° where before it would hover around 190°
Me being this far south and having a stroker I run it cooler than I would if up north.

I haven't done a thing but oil changes for the last couple years. But last month before I went away I did put a UMI strut tower brace and rear LCA with relocation mounts in. This time around I overhauled my brakes with the Powerstop kit. Red calipers, slotted and drilled pads, and carbon fiber pads. Also did a full brake fluid bleed and Russell stainless lines. Stops phenomenal!
