What did you do with your Trans Am today?

This is a discussion on What did you do with your Trans Am today? within the Firebird / WS6 forums, part of the Vehicle Specific category; Finally got it back. They did some nice work even it took awhile. Better to be right than quick though....

Like it never happened I've always liked the Firehawk hood just a little better than the others... not sure I can convince the Wifey to do the swap though

Its the VFN Smoothie-Q hood and it surprised the hell out of me with not just shattering from the deer. It maintained all integrity on the outside, but did have a bit of cracking on the inner, but they were able to fiberglass it and you cant even tell it happened. I was looking for it cause i was going to get a new hood since it seemed like a stretch to repair, but I really don't know fiberglass.

I see that now. Has a little more height than a standard Firehawk hood. I'm no fiberglass guru either, so as long as it looks good go with it I suppose

Fly wheel not any better. One of the spring pieces put a grove in it. Monster makes you buy a flywheel as part of the kit anyways. Just need to decide between the standard 28 lb one or the 18lb billet steel one. $90 difference. Open to suggestions.

Probably going to throw in a new slave as well, this one only has 10k miles on it. Not sure yet.
    Get the steel one.

After reading more on them I'm getting the steel one. The lightweights are really good for road rally racinf. For street and especially track use they don't hold up as well for hard launches

Anyone have a photo of exactly where the slave bleeder screw/valve is on the T56?

Gents & Ladies All, Quick Fix help: I'm sure many of you have rewired cigarette lighter plug to only be ON when engine is ON, but which is preferred device & device wire to tap into for that? (I'm tired of unplugging radar detector & dashcam whilst at dinner, etc.) Thanks

Look for a 12v switch source like your radio. I use that for my gauge pod.

There is often a switched 12 volt tap available in the dash fuse panel. Remember to install a fuse in the new circuit close to the power source for safety.

Anytime the wheels break lose and spin ... so,, if I launch and the wheels spin that would be a yes on both. ( not being a smarta** ) ;-)
Haven't had time to get to them yet - seems like it rains every time I do have time and my DD 05 Envoy has been very needy lately.

What condition are your rear bushings? What tire pressure are you running?

The only time I get wheel hop is when I drive on Bulletmores crappy streets.
