Went and looked at a car today

The car actually looks good for it's age and mileage. The owner seems like a good guy and he has his own shop at home and a shop he owns and does mechanical duties. He rebuilt the engine and it ran strong. He kept it all stock except for flowmaster muffler. The interior needs a good cleaning and it has a vibration in the back. Other than that I didnt see much to make me worry. He wouldn't come down much on price so if I were to buy it I'd tell him to fix that vibration first. It will be my DD so I wanna make sure I get something that runs well and was taken care of. The biggest sellibg point for this car was the engine. He showed me pics of the rebuild and he redid the crank, new valves and pistons, bored it to a 355. I'm not the most mechanically savvy but have some knowledge and everything seemed to be well with it. I have one more car to go look at before making a choice unless some more pop up for me to go see

If he bored an LS1 to 355 c.i. -- it is junk. Max cleanup on the stock cylinders is limited to .005". Something isn't "measuring up" on that claim.

Well I guess the link didn't goto the actual listing. It's a 1997 Formula with LT1. I'm still waiting to go look at a '99 in Houston as soon as they have it ready to sell. That and I'm waiting for all these storms to move out of the area.

Ok - I searched through the pages of cars and found an '01 with 170,000 on the clock. Guess I picked the wrong car.

I won't even bother with the 01. I talked to the guy and it's been raced a lot. The 97 is off the site now. It expired so I'll see if he relists it or not. He said not too many people showed interest so I'll low ball him if I decide to buy it.
