    weird noise on ws6

Hey guys i just bought a 98 Trans Am ws6. its a 6speed with 80K miles. I bought it from a dealership in Cincy where i live. it was a well known dealer. im the second owner. so i just wanted to say whats up to everyone and since you all know about these cars i have a question...the car seems to make a high pitched noise. its barely even noticeable. it stops at idle and the faster i go, the faster it seems to go. when i turn the car off it continues for about 4 seconds but seems to slow down and comes to a halt..im thinking some sort of belt or fan? since it seems to slow down and come to halt instead of dead stopping. have any of you guys had this? any info would be appreciated. Thanks
    Paul

might also be the air pump or fans they would be the only things I can think of that may do that out side of the fuel pump.

I'd say its the air pump. It takes some getting used to.

There's nothing wrong with it, that's just how it sounds. I'll eventually be taking mine off. You'll just have to get the ECU reprogrammed.

Yeah, open the hood... start the car.. and use the throttle and see where the sound is coming from.. if its the far right.. by the fender.. its the air pump.. removed mine.. and got it tuned out.

You have to get a smaller belt when you remove it??? Dumbass question, but I totally can't remember if it's belt driven or not... Thanks.
